i fully agree with this

However as a member of the sticker police there are a lot of people on this forum who leave them on and wear their watch that way. Its like fingernails on a chalk board for me.

I agree with you my friend. I wouldn't feel comfortable spending that much just to have stickers on a new watch.

I feel lucky, my AD let me keep the bezel protector and not the stickers

...unless the watch came from the showcase and has been tried on by many. It's still sold as new despite being a showroom model.

Stickers don't prove anything unless you buy it new from an AD and are there to remove it from the coffin. If buying second-hand, stickers can't guarantee the watch has never been worn.

No matter what, this will always be a sticky topic. Some will adhere to it with fierce grip and others will fall away with little effort.

have you seen the grungy stickers people here leave attached to their watch? I saw a Daytona one time with what was probably a 15 year old case back sticker still attached on a regularly worn watch. Imagine what a bacterial analysis would show

sounds like a business opportunity...someone should start creating the sticker and sell them for premium :) . I'll buy some :)

If I’m buying a watch that I know won’t be worn (which I can’t see myself doing) I will buy one with stickers for a little more. But if I’m going to rip it off myself anyway I’m not paying more just for that “experience”. Hell, I even bought my last 2 watches pre owned because having my name on the warranty card wasn’t worth paying $1-2k more.

I’d pay maybe $5 more for the pleasure of peeling stickers, but more than that, no. A watch just isn’t that precious.

Certainly there is some value to knowing every blemish was put on the watch by you but it isn’t more than a couple hundred bucks

That’s pretty much how I am. If I buy from an AD I want to peel the stickers myself. It’s part of the fun. The last one I bought however the AD said if I wanted to peel them I’d have to peel them in the store. I laughed and just told them to do it while sizing it.

Now if I’m not buying from an AD... I’d never pay more for stickers.

Remember, you’re buying the trusted gouger, err, seller along with the timepiece.

Buying from a trusted seller with stickers in ensures that the watch has not had a light polish to make it look pristine in the photos.

I would not pay more for a fully stickerd vs unworn condition/ Dealer removed stickers but I would pay a few hundred dollars more for a fully stickered model compared to a Pre-Owned one in excellent condition that had a light polish......

with stickers, of course

the problem is. are you sure the one without stickers has not been polished? because if it were, the watch will never be the same

the polished watches do not make sense to me, you look at them and you're sad

I would not pay more than a couple hundred $ for stickers, and only for the peace of mind knowing that the surfaces underneath are pristine. Unfortunately, scratches are going to show quickly on 18k PCLs no matter how careful the wearer is . . .

Stickers are more and more important to collectors...

So much so, that not just the presence of the stickers is valued, but the CONDITION of each and every one that is adhered to the watch. They need to be individually graded for condition. Not every stickered watch is the same level of minty.

If I've bought a watch from an AD and I know that the watch is brand new, then I can live with them removing the stickers (though I'd prefer to remove them myself) as long as I've seen the watch stickered and new.

I don't buy from grey dealers but, if I did, the stickers might reassure me that I'm genuinely the first person to wear the watch. Maybe that's why greys charge the premium.

Ultimately, anything that reduces the ridiculous grey market which is poisoning the well at the moment is something I can get onboard with.

Yeah,

My AD had to remove to QR code one and I was totally fine with that. We took off a few of the other stickers in the store (again - fine with that).

I don’t know if this is the universal requirement now for all ADs or if it was because I was picking up a SD43.

I don’t care - I am never letting go of this watch (until I pass it down to my nephew, when he is an adult).

To those who value it, it's the experience, not the cost.

Represents you're the first to touch it.

I don't care much about them. If both are NIB I'll take the one that is less

It used to be $500 was the difference for papers and a couple hundred for stickers (that you get to peel off) now it's just out of control.

In short, they are there to protect against scuffs or marks in transit or when being handled, once it’s on my wrist, they’re off! Once they start peeling that makes a 10k watch look very cheap! IMO.....

Yep. Maybe soon we'll start seeing threads like this --> "While inspecting my watch with my jeweler's loupe, I noticed a scratch on my sticker. Will RSC replace? Under warranty? "
