I've had my YG Sub now for about a month and there isn't a major noticeable scratch on it other than super fine hairlines on the police parts only seen under direct strong artificial lighting... that said, I do baby it.. I don't allow it to unnecessarily come into contact with surfaces that are hard... so when I type on my laptop I either elevate my wrist or take it off... I also don't sleep with it on, I don't shower with it on, and I give it a soap / water bath about every other day.. I am "aware" of it when I wear it and just generally avoid contact with it and desktops etc.. that's all I can do.. after a few months or years if it gets scratches up, I will pay the $300 for Rolex to do a proper re-finish...

First off, congrat!
I have a WG model as well- daily wear for little over 2yrs.
No dings, no stretch in the bracelet, but lots of scratches in the usual places- anywhere polished. The way I see it is if you're going to spend that much money on a watch, wear it, use it, bond with it.

A few more scratches, maybe a few more dings?
The bracelet will be more prone to stretch if you wear it too loose and don't wash it.

2. Is gold that soft?
Softer, but not that soft.
A gold watch will not end up looking like this after a few years of daily wear:

3. How much is a case replacement (lol)?
No. Just no.

4. Is this thing daily-able?
Absolutely.

The thing to remember about scratches is that on here, you're looking at the watch up close and personal, so like the fellow who posted his wg sub- his bracelet looks awful. In real life, it's not that noticeable. It's like if I took a macro shot of some lingerie model's skin- you'd think she's hideous. Now watch her walk down the runway- completely different story.

I've worn SS and WG Sub and GMT watches daily for over a year each and all models are about the same.

Even though its gold, it’s still a Submariner, still a divers watch, still a Rolex Sports Watch built like a tank. Wear that thing and enjoy it!!
