Kind of curious how many are being released. I am on list for the SS Pepsi, but honestly probably like this one more. The fear of the usual TT discount is the main issue. In a year what are the odds that the ss will be selling for more than the TT on the gray market. Plus what about value 10 years down the road.

Someone contact Watchfinder with one to sell and get a quote, wonder if they are offering above or below retail?

The reality is that there are not that many available. A lot of online grey sellers post the watch at a price above what they know they can source it at. Low cost way of carrying stock.

Agree, this happens every year with new Basel releases.
Nobody in their right mind is paying 40K+ for the solid rose gold GMT

Isn’t the point that Chrono24 is a global market, so the GBP prices are translated from other currencies (EUR or USD) where the RRP is higher anyway?

A lot of Members told me that since it’s a TT Watch That There would be no price gouging....We now see the truth.I’d imagine the First new Pepsi GMT’s will be listed around 20K.Just like normal,The big Grey sellers will somehow have it First...How does this ALWAYS happen? Greed and Buyers with more Money than sense. If People stop paying stupid prices the whole Game will go back to normal but that will never happen with Instagram hype and the “gotta have it” Crowd.

Well said.Maybe I do not think that people pay those prices. You have to be very stupid to let yourself be robbed like that.

ADs aren’t “letting” this happen.

They ARE selling the hot watches “out the back door” with their grey market outlets.

I bet it will be a long time before we see a thread with some guy going to the mall to buy a pair of tube socks and an Orange Julius and he lucks out and sees a Root Beer in a display case. That’s an easy $10,000 flip.

ADs aren’t going to put the watches in the display case or call some watch hungry dudes on a list. Pepsi’s and Root Beers are so in demand that I bet even the big fish might have to wait.

I don’t think a single one has sold. These flippers are going to start dropping prices soon.

In Singapore, a saw one full RG GMT today for 55K SGD = 41K USD.

Although gorge in its own right, the chnr is not for me so no problems here. I am ticked that more than 2 years now since DaytonaC release and I still can’t find one at retail despite purchasing more then $70k worth of Rolex and Tudor watches in the past 3 years from 2 ADs.
There is always someone in the gotta have it crowd who has the money to burn and wants to be first or thinks it's that essential to have. And always a middleman inserting himself into a situation while adding no value in the transaction to the market whilst lining his own pockets. These two are lock and key.

If I was one of these grey market scalpers I would be laughing so hard at what's transpiring as long as this crazy cash comes my way. Rarely in life can you scalp people like this and have them thank you for it.

Nothing but Rolex upping production will change this. But they'd rather have the hype and heat than reach any kind of market saturation that leads to more discounting, that's evidently more of an evil to them.

The losers are ironically the people who simply want to buy the watch to wear, like yourself. Either you get nothing, or bend over to the scalpers, who are the only winners

Let's not get carried away, you as the owner of this watch and as a genuine wearer and not with a flip in the back of your mind, is the real winner on all these hyped watches, a grey making an extra grand or three on a watch that is clearly underpriced at retail is not doing any cartwheels. Shame when price starts to get more important than ownership on pure luxury goods.

As I said before, "stuff 'em!" I'll bide my time.

ROLEX! Your phoney 'controls' aren't working.

ROLEX, do your really care who your real customers are?

ROLEX, your AD's are retaining warranty cards!.....hahahaha!

I respectfully suggest Rolex cut all relations with AD's and
supply direct, online only, including servicing etc.

Of course they won't........
I suspect there are far too many greasy palms at work.

Like 'posh' antique shops, many ad's forget they are 'just' shopkeepers, not
Royalty.
Absolutely nothing wrong with being a shopkeeper, just don't pretend you're
more important than the person whose coin you are after.

Phew! That's better.

how do you suppose the AD is participating in this free market? The cant.. therefore these flippers are taking advantage of a market that isnt free to begin with. If it was free the AD price would be the market price and no need for a parallel market at all.

You are missing 1/2 of the equation, and a 1/2 free market is not free ...as it either is or it isnt.

AD's can discount down to a market price and everyone expects it, but they cant price up when the market price is higher. People expect the market to work one way... to their advantage. "free market" is just a buzz word and it means nothing as people only want it when it benefits them.

Those are stunning references. Sadly I feel the profit taken by grey dealers are getting out of control. Sure they can go out fishing, but this game of being the first to get hot references and ask insane amount for them is just not good imho. Especially way before real customers looking to wear and enjoy them actually can get their hands on and share their joy of ownership.

At least we have seen couple new incoming of the new Deepsea JC, before Grey dealers ask 20K for them...
