I put mine in plastic storage bins with relatively good seals on the lids, throw in a couple of dessicant packs and seal it closed. I put them in a closet.
Whenever I need something out of a box, I replace the dessicant pouches. |

I have a dozen of boxes. I wrapped each with glossy paper taken from pages of a watch magazine and store them in the garage. Papers and warranty etc are all in the box including receipts.

No help to the OP, but instead of starting another thread, I do have a bit of a related question.
Let's face it, some of these boxes are quite nice. Has anyone found a good use of them without giving up the integrity of it still being a watch box (for resale way down the road?) I haven't thought about it until reading this thread, but with the quality of some of these boxes, it's a bit of a waste to just store them away somehow.

Keep the boxes. They add some value just in case you need to sell your watches one day.
BTW, will be interesting if you can post a group shot of all your watches. 40 is a big collection.

my last two Patek boxes never even got unwrapped. Still in the bubble wrap they were delivered with. Probably never unwrap it and will surely never get rid of them. So they just sit.

If you want to get rid of them, I’ll be glad to take them off your hands. I see them on Ebay going for $100 or more sometimes
