No worries. The LN is a great watch. Many here prefer the black over the blue. I dare say it's more rare on this forum to see the black.

Last two comments are funny. Yes they are hard to find. Your showing a LN not a BLNR. Other post acts like u can stroll in and there are many in stock. Both of you evidently haven't bought a watch lately. OP - call around, be patient, or get one from a trusted seller.

I've seen two BLNRs sitting in cases in the last few months, passed on both and bought a different model. Not everyone here lives in overpopulated areas or have poor relationships with our ADs.

You should play the lottery if you saw a BLNR available separate times. You should help out the fellow members by telling people where one is available. The popular models are non existent by me. Yes I live in a populated area, but it's a known issue to find SS models these days. Huge AD's around the world are experiencing the shortage. My comment was to give the OP reality, not set him up for disappointment. I love the GMT LN model so it wasn't a disrespect to the post above. Even finding a GMT LN is rare these days.

One BLNR went to a colleague, the other was sold the same day locally after I called back to respectfully pass it up. There was nothing to tell fellow members about, otherwise I would.

Someone just posted a photo of a BLNR sitting in the case at an AD in Texas. They're out there.

I think the poster with the LN made an honest mistake. No need to get hasty, he was just trying to help.

I apologize for my post above. It was not my intention to be disrespectful which it was. I do still stand by my comments about the shortage though.

I recently got my BLNR from the dealer in Corte Madera in about a month. Great buying experience. The secret to getting a watch like this is to go in person and talk to them and get on there list. Like most dealers they get phone call's all day long from all over California asking to be put on a list.

These callers are seldom considered customers and locals have a much better chance in getting a watch because you may become a long term customer unlike someone living in Sacramento or elsewhere.

The other secret is to stop by the dealer after you get on the list so they know your a serious buyer and they assume your local to the area. By the time my watch arrived they knew me on a first name basis. Feel free to private message me for a contact name.

You'll love the watch!

Thanks for the advice and tips. Makes 100% sense. I was planning on going into a few local AD's, mainly because I want to see what they have in stock and maybe try on some other models too. Plus, I'm old school and like to do things like this the old school way (when possible)....which is in person. I never thought about the AD seeing the customer as local and a potential long term customer, but the point you make is true. I would probably be a long term customer as well, as I suspect this BLNR won't be my last Rolex purchase.

Another great thing about the Corte Madera dealer, when I first decided on a BLNR I had never seen one in person let alone try one on simply because no one had one in stock.

When my dealer got one in for another customer he called me to come down and take a look at it in person before he sold it. I think small Rolex dealers tend to give more personal service like that.

This is an example of great personalized service, and the kind of experience you want to have when making a purchase like this! I actually have never seen a BLNR in person either. I'm hoping that a local AD might at least have a LN or a TT GMT in stock. That way I can at least get a feel of the size and how it looks on my wrist. Or, if I'm REAL lucky, the AD might actually have a BLNR that I can try out and buy on the spot! :)

I walked into an AD just yesterday t pick up a watch I a particular I was on a list for. While there I asked if anything else came in and low and behold the salesman produced a BLNR had also just come in.

Sometimes its great to lucky or better being at the right place at right time.

I saw your thread on your double lucky day! What a score with your new Hulk, and your right place at the right time BLNR! I know it's tough to find these in the AD's stock nowadays, but between your story and a few others.....I'm beginning to have a little hope to also be able to be in the right place at the right time! TRF member MARTIN1264 just posted his story about how he also found a BLNR in stock (with the help of his wife) at his local AD.

I guess I will keep reaching out to my AD here in Palo Alto. I also have a trip to London coming up. Maybe I would have some luck there?

Has anyone here bought from davidsw before? Would I be better off buying an unworn one and paying the premium?

DavidSW is top tier. I bought my blnr from Shreve and co., and a Rhodium YM from David (pre-loved, but only three months old : )

I recommend David without hesitation. There’s a reason he’s so highly spoken of on trf. He’s one of the great resources and a great credit to this forum.

You’ll find one in London, just not at RRP/list price.

You’re not going to find anything in London at an AD unless you want a datejust or PM watch.

It would be fine to get from David, and keep in mind you'll be avoiding the awful Palo Alto sales tax.

Main consideration for you is whether will be looking for access to other pieces that Shreve sells in the future. If you're like many on here it won't be long before you're thinking about getting other hard to find pieces and in that case if you want a chance to get them at MSRP you might want to start buying through a single AD.

Shreve has two stores here, and they're owned by the Schiffman family who have their own branded stores on the east coast so they're a large account.

I was there about a month and half ago and had no luck.. But big city AD get them more often than not. Unfortunately, their waiting list or "regulars list" is much longer too..

BLNR is not a hard watch to find if you look around.

I had the same problem. I live in the Indianapolis area and called a dozen ADs all around a three state region. I got on lists and it only took 2-3 weeks to get my LN. I wanted the LN, but I could also have gotten the BLNR as quickly. Be patient, it won't take as long as you fear. You waited this long for your first Rolex. A little longer will be worth it. Get the watch you want.

I'm guessing the Palo Alto store has a list a mile long simply because of the amount of wealthy people living in the area and of course many of them are past customers which will most likely get first crack.

Smaller out of the way dealers like Roseville, Corte Madera and Santa Rosa are more likely to get you the watch.

Having just gotten back from a vacation in Europe, every dealer I stopped off at only politely laughed when I asked about a BLNR.

If in the states, the latest shipment of SS models came last week. So there's a few BLNRs available for immediate pick up. Between my friend group - we have picked up 3 this past week.

What kind of “friend group” is this and why would you all want the same watch?

chicken and the egg...

i think for the BLNR you need to establish relationship with other purchases first before you can buy BLNR. It will be harder to have your BLNR be your fist watch with an AD. Possible but harder.

See my post.. was a non issue for me.. walked in .. first purchase.. had my choice of BLNR / LN / BLRO and a Sub Hulk that day. Wife and I chose Blnr for my 35th birthday present from her.

Just purchased my second Rolex a new Air King 116900 this past week. Collected today : )

I was also offered the new Skydweller in Blue and had only purchased the BLNR at that time.

Now that I have purchased 2 and in 2 years I am on his list as a top choice first come first serve should I want something new.. really think it depends on the AD

I was not however able to pick up a Ceramic Daytona last year as he had about 10 top purchasers ahead of me.. He said if I wanted to get on his list now I would be second in line.

However I am done for now.. Love my AK more than the BLNR and plan to relax on the spending for a while and just enjoy.

OP.. hope you find your BLNR.. you really should consider some of the top sellers on here. I have done a transaction with DavidSW and it was one of the best and easiest transactions I have ever done selling my BLNR.

OP if your interested my AD currently has an LN / BLRO and Black and Gold GMT two-tone in stock, unfortunately no BLNR at this time.

I prepaid for a BLNR a few weeks ago at my local AD, got the call this morning so the order got fulfilled in less than a month. They also had a 116110LN and 114060 for anyone interested in the Central Valley(they don't ship).

The BLNR shouldn't be that hard for you to get.

I went back yesterday to my AD just to say hi and remind them that I’m serious.

I also asked if they would call me when one came in so I could try one on. They said they’d let me know but wouldn’t guarantee me anything. I kept chatting and low and behold, someone had one I could try on.

It only confirmed what I already knew. Can’t wait to get one.

I’m going to try my hardest and stick it out with a purchase from an AD rather than a reseller.
