I 'play' a little bit and 'collect' a little bit too much. Here's a couple (I need some updated family photos!):

Yes SG standard. That is a 1968 as far as I can tell (serial number plus pot codes). It's not 100% original as pictured but I have the original pups and hardware around here somewhere (even have a hang tag - LOL). The LP Std. in the background is probably my main squeeze.

Here's my set up (one of them anyway). My (real) 1963 Hofner violin bass. I play Beatles music. I've also got a Rickenbacker bass which I dearly love.

I play acoustic and have for 35 yrs. Don't play in bands because of the "if it's not loud, it's not music" theory. Love to play and find it very hard to find people to jam with without alot of driving or problems just getting together. I have friend here at work that plays and she used to teach and one other friend here that plays hamonica (very well) that we sometimes jam here at work for say an hour or so before everyone needs to get out of here to get home. I visit the acoustic guitar forum sometimes to see if anyone in the area wants to get together but haven't found any takers. Oh and I'm in the Southeast burbs of atlanta if any TRF's are in for a night of playing sometime.

Dumb tale...

Went to my aunts the other night for a meal and they had the new guitar hero game.

Man, after an hour or so playing that silly thing, I felt like a rock god...At first I figured on buying the game.

Then I thought about actually buying a guitar and learning to play it like I keep on promising (always actually liked the idea of playing bass).

For the £80 I could spend on a guitar game, I could buy a Yamaha F310 (which is highly recommended here for a beginner's guitar).

Today I was all set on heading down the music shop to pick up a guitar but then the ghost of Little Walter started nagging me again. I had a quick look on the web and see some decent new rhythm harp technique dvd's and some new riffs and licks books.

I'm sticking with the harmonica for now!!!!!!!

Jim,
Ah yes, Little Walter, what a talent. I loved his economical use of the harmonica. Only the right notes at the right time. I've had the honor of playing with Junior Wells a few times. Another great talent. What a thrill.

That was an honour to play with the Hoodoo Man, Dan!!!!!!!!!!

Many of these guys were innovators. I love a bit of grimy, crunchy Chicago blues harp but I also love a bit of country harp in the style of Sonny Terry or the two Sonny Boys.

I grew up a big Dylan fan and always thought about learning the harmonica to play a few of his riffs but the day I heard Sonny Boy II's "Help Me" I rushed out to buy a Hohner Special 20 to learn those opening licks!!!!!!!!!!!

My goal is still to play Juke all the way through to a professional level and go on from there....I'm about 10000 miles off that hence the sticking with the harp techniques instead of the guitar lessons!!!!

Thanks Richard! I bought them both used - the SG in about 1980 and the 1986 Standard about 2 years ago. They both are a lot of fun.

I play. I have a 2007 Gibson Les Paul Standard and a 2008 ESP KH-2 Neck Thru.

I have "played" for about 10 years but really just got serious about playing in the last year.
