Just thinking about that other poor guy with the new dented Rolex. Hopefully your wife does a complete inspection, most wife's wouldn't know what to look for. (at least mine)

I agree. If you’re a likeable person with decent social skills and a good manner about you, and you’re a naturally resourceful individual who is adept at networking and making things happen, it shouldn’t take more than a few months to buy a BLNR or LVc at MSRP.

Granted, that’s not going to include everyone on this Forum. In that case, it’s a good thing for the grey market and deep pockets!

Wow, you must have a special relationship with that AD.

Haha, I check off a lot of the boxes except I'm not good at networking or making things happen. It's just not my thing. I've purchased 6 watches including PM but I can't get a 116500, BLNR, BLRO, CHNR, or LVC. Another member got a BLNR and BLRO with no sales history from same AD. I don't even bother asking my SA about it because I can't deal with the BS.

I'll pay a premium if/when I get tired of waiting.

I completely give up. Been calling over 40 AD's the past few months and trying to get the blnr. Same story everywhere.. no we cant add you to list (not local or no previous purchase), we dont do lists, ask your local AD that you purchased from before and so on. Well I did ask my AD and they cant even put me on list because there's so many people already on it. Sigh. This is just frustrating trying to find a watch I'd like. I dont think I can compromise with a different one, just wont feel right.

Sorry, maybe just venting.

Any advise ?

Davidsw or takuya lol. At some point the premium will be worth your time spent waiting

I think it definitely helps. I got my BLNR from my AD with no previous relationship in 8 weeks then got my white DaytonaC 4 months later.

Don’t call. Go in person to as many ADs as you can. Chat them up for a bit then ask to be put on the list. They will be more willing to add someone they see as local rather than some random person calling.

Yeah, I have also tried this. Hopefully it's just a matter of waiting. Thanks :)

Some places require a deposit. Do you think that's acceptable? I'm going to a AD on Sunday to put $500 (their asking)

I think my AD just knows I’m really into watches. I’ve bought two seikos (sla019 and the shippo dial) and the Tudor gmt from them. Plus my wife redid her wedding band, and all that is just this year. When I go in I make sure to wear my hulk or Daytona and remind them I got them there as a subtle hint I don’t flip. Honestly I think the main thing is I started my relationship with them many years ago before all this craziness began. Go in to your local ad and at this point in time I’d go out of my way to mention you have zero plans to flip, you just want the watch. You’ll get nowhere calling I think.

No wait for me, good timing, I never showed interest in a Blnr but I stopped in to my AD 2 mos. ago who is a WIS and collecter to show him 2 ads for older pepsi's. he just said "overpolished, get a batman". Two days later he called and said come take a look and bring your credit card. Sold. msrp tax incl. I do have history though, I bought 3 crowns from him earlier this year. Funny thing he said after was 'they' talked on who to call, maybe knowing I'm not a flipper helped too.

This is what I told people. If you have a relationship with an AD they will order one for you. You'll have to pay upfront and then wait about 4-6 weeks.

If you walk into an AD and they claim they "can't get it for you" it means that they don't want to sell it to you. It's up to them. They are on the look-out for people flipping them. But they tend to sell them to priority customers.

ADs can get them...but they are selective about who they sell them to. The average retail customer who walks in off the street will be told "can't get it for you" as I have said before.

If you call an AD they...will tell you no.

If you walk in off the street...they will tell you no.

If you are a priority/premier customer or spend money with them...they will feel you out that you are not going to flip the watch...they will allow you to order one if you pay in full up-front and are willing to wait 4-6 weeks.

Bucherer - world largest Rolex dealer - sent out E-Mails to clients this morning, that the waiting list for the BLNR has been cancelled as Rolex stopped the production. They won‘t receive any more watches.

They are getting the call and passing how is that for lack of interest. He passed on a 9K watch being able to turn it into 12k instantly and he didn´t even let us know who the AD is so one of us could benefit. The gold advice of not pay MSRP they are not that hard to get is astounding.

Your post looks like

Being not enough for you, you come out with cinism with the public service thing, having provided absolutely no clue as to what AD this is now that may have been some public service. Just to let you know some of us are not fools here.
