Don’t know if anyone has seen this article about sizing .. just ran across it and makes some good points about how link sits over hinge.

I think four and four will work. The micro adjustment in the clasp will also need to be adjusted. On some of my watches I end up buying a 1/2 link for the 6 o'clock side and it works out perfect. Not much cost and AD's usually have them on hand. Keep modifying until you hit the sweet spot. You will know.

Didn’t know that ADs have half links.. read somewhere that they only sell what’s given with a particular watch (for ex: Daytona full links).

Wrong

Grab a screwdriver and a spring bar tool and play with links and microadjustments on the clasp until you get it right.

I always size my own watches, ADs always rush it, it takes time to get it right.

Unless we're talking push pins, I can't do those.

I don't know about blatantly and general saying "wrong" lol. Also for some one without experience I DO NOT recommend using a screw driver and spring bar tool to play around.

But I do agree it takes time. Usually I size my watch and within a day or even two I have to make adjustments to get a better fit. It's rare that I get the sizing right the first time.

At that wrist size you're likely a candidate for a half-link on the 6 o'clock side. Ask your dealer to order one from a 78760 Yacht-Master bracelet since it will be polished in the center rather than brushed. I don't have the part number handy at the moment but it's from the clasp assembly.

It's tough for us guys (and gals) with small wrists. For me, it's not how the clasp looks but how comfortable it is. Comfort is all that matters. If it doesn't feel good, you won't wear it.

That's why I prefer Rolex to most other brands - their bracelets fit me well and don't grab on to the arm hair.

Indeed it is ! Have had some issues with other brands but my Sub fits like a glove. Glidelock does make it much easier to adjust too. I’ll find the sweet spot with this one just will take a bit of time.

If your AD will source you a half link that’s what I’d try. It looks like you’re right between links. A Sub half link will fit (I believe).

They’ll have to be creative in getting one or you may get lucky and they have one in stock. I wouldn’t worry that the center isn’t polished as you use it on the 12 o’clock side and it won’t be that visible.

Edit: I also think you should consider wearing your watch higher up the wrist for better comfort

He'll need to use it on the 6 o'clock side, not 12. A polished version is available so if they have a parts account then there's little reason not to source the correct version. Why cut corners on a $12k watch?

The part number for the 78760 polished half-link is 32-20933. It's identical to the Sub half-link but polished in the center and both physically and visually correct for a Daytona bracelet. It includes both the link and the 1.70mm threaded pin.

I didn't realize there was a 1/2 link available

As for which side .. I use all my 1/2 links on my sub and SD43 and when I had it Dblue on the 12 o'clock side

Sure thing.

I'm split on how I use them. On older bracelets I end up with one on the 6 o'clock side. On newer bracelets I rarely need them. But, I sourced one for my Daytona just to have the polished version on hand.

IF the clasp is perfectly positioned, 4 is the correct number for the OP on the 6 o'clock side.

If 4 is too tight and 5 is too loose (on the 12 o'clock side) regardless of easy link/micro adjustments, then the half link goes on the 12 o'clock side. All day, every day, otherwise the clasp position moves.

Glidelock is different, of course, as there is 20mm of adjustment in the clasp alone, as you know

At 6.5" (16.5cm) he very well might need 3.5 links if worn tight. A full link is 10mm and half is 6.5mm. That 3.5mm could make all the difference in fit and comfort.

I'm at 4 links / 17.3cm flat wrist. Same watch.

Wish glidelock came standard on all sports models

As mentioned a half link replacing a full one on the 12 o’clock side should sort it. As other have said, dont necessarily worry too much about the actual clasp being centered - it’s the whole folding mechanism which will sit tight to the wrist. You will get there. It always takes me a while to find the right sweet spot.

Similar sized wrist. When I had my 116500 I bought a half link for a Sub, polished out the centre link myself, and put it at the 6 o'clock side. Ended up with 3.5 links at 6 and 5 at 12 (with the micro adjustment on the outermost hole) and it fit perfectly. Looks like that's the ideal setup for you too.

One thing I do with the older bracelets since you're more limited on removable links is flip the bracelet upside down.

That’s how the dealer first adjusted my sub few years ago. They said that’s how they were taught from Rolex. I just went home and made it even to we’re the clasp sits in the middle.

A little update in my quest to get the right fit on a small wrist lol..per some other posts I took their advice and told AD to order me a half link.. sized it to 4 and 4 links with it pulled out as far as possible and Easylink closed. In second notch with Easylink opened it felt good but wanted to take advantage of Easylink being closed. So now it’s a little more on the snug size but I think bracelet fits much better and doesn’t have extra slack. Clasp seems pretty well centered also

You actually want it like that so it will catch less scratches. Even brushing against clothing scratches the clasp. With it riding high it hits less things.
