A 116655 was listed for $25800 from a respected WIS on another site.
List on that is $28700 and was bought last June. Im assuming he made a few bucks on that sale. At a basic 15% discount on a PM plus the taxes he would be ahead.
If bought right many in the Rolex lineup don't lose much if any at all, even PMs.

If we exclude "special" models and discontinued / limited edition models, how much do you believe the following depreciate from RRP before they hit a plateau and retain their value;

1) Stainless Steel sports models
2) Stainless steel traditional models
3) Bi metals
4) Gold
If you are worried about depreciation don’t buy a watch.

isnt list like $25k?... selling it for even 18.5 would be doing ok. around -30%

I don't think 15% is standard on an OF model, its probably less. On a full gold watch probably. Not sure about discounts though.

SS 10-15%
Bi-Metal 25-40%
PM 50%.
Just best guess.
Where can I buy a yellow Sub blue dial for 16K?

Those prices are in Canadian
Even to even out a paltry 10% it still would not be too bad see it was only bought in June of this year

pretty sure it got sold for <19K USD as that was what is was listed at here (assuming its the same watch). vs a 25k USD list price.

so list price minus a 10% discount and selling at maybe 18.5k is a loss of 20% for a 6 month old watch. Seems OK to me actually

Haha you must be talking about my ad.

I can tell you the realized price was lower than that. And I did lose a little bit of money. To me, it worth it to try out a PM piece from brand new.

Canadian retail is $28,700 plus taxes. In Alberta that's $30,135, and in Ontario that's $32,431 (respectively, $22,500 USD and $24,217 USD). Assuming the Alberta list price you would need 15.8% off to get to my advertised price, and 21.7% in Ontario, to get to my asking price of $18,950.

I checked in with most ADs in the GTA and they were not willing to do a penny off on the piece. Full list plus taxes. PM discounts here have basically dried up.
