It's terrible and quite possibly the most over priced watch Rolex has ever released.

Not keen on the YM42 in those pics.

I would choose the original YM in blue or rhodium any day over that....regardless of price.

Think the YM42 may make a perfect twin to the YMii. Both expensive and not particularly well liked.

I’ll stand by my original statement that the RG is what makes the matte black so very sexy.

It’s orerty cool. But prefer the 116655 by a long shot.

Lot of hate for the YM it seems. I find it very sharp looking. I wouldn't get it, but I really like the look of it. A little big for my liking.

Here’s a YM that I tried on a year or two ago. I liked it, but bought a Bluesy.

Got to say that is the reason I like it. Simple, understated, elegant look which makes the BLNR a little fussy looking in comparison.

Were you able to buy anything - or was it just an invitation to drool and test water resistance?

Indeed. It is one of the most underwhelming pieces from Rolex IMO.

For me, it was interesting to try on the YM 42. The watch has the big submariner look and wears "flat" on the wrist because of the bigger dial (the dial was slightly bigger compared to the 2018 BLNR I was wearing) and regular case size.

Another thing I noticed is the lower half of the new BLNR dial font (GMT-MA.. etc) is a skinner font compared to the older one.
Which AD?

So my AD called me with the yacht master. Question is cop or drop?

Buy it if you like/want it - otherwise it seems a sure fire way to loose money. (and for me, a watch that looks like a 90's Tag Heuer)

This. If it was steel I would buy it. Yes I know so far all Oysterflex releases have been PM but only Rolex knows the rationale behind that.

The SD43 TT looks like it has so much presence. Looking forward to trying this one.

The YM actually looks the most interesting to me but only if I’m SS. It’s priced too high in the rubber coated WG version.

I greatly prefer my blue dial platinum bezel YM and my older BLNR. Guess the money stays in the bank.

YM42 Submariner Date is incredibly expensive for a Submariner with plastic band. Jmho

Indeed!

Can anyone officially confirm that the dial markers are bigger on the YM?

Obviously the case is 2mm larger than previous but the new markers look almost comically large and out of proportion to the dial.

That said I do like the watch overall. I think that bezel on the YM rhodium dial would look better than the platimum.

I find the YM 2 a little over the top. Well a lot over the top. Sorry to the fans.
