I would say if the deal is right trade with a trusted seller. I have done both of selling and tradings.

For accessories I would sell outright, but watches do a trade. You take the low ball offers off the table not worrying if you are getting scammed etc.

I originally was gonna sell my DJ II outright and had a deal close in place then out of nowhere guy backs out. I said I will take a little hit and have my watch in a couple days. I ended up losing 300 it was worth it for not having a hassle.

Do AD's actually take back watches? I mean as a general rule would it be allowed or would most do it?

The two I deal with have their policy on their websites. I don't know about others. They both take them back for trade ups.

Would you get more if you part exchanged your car at a dealership? They'll always offer you less, so it's better to get rid of the car first yourself. Same can be applied to watches.
