OP, where did you decide to go? I've been to Pattaya (Thailand) and it is an absolute riot. You can live like a king for relatively cheap. I spent about $145, including hotel, food & drink. Some parts are startlingly dirty (and you are forced to turn a blind eye to the sex trade and "massage spas" that line every other street), but the local Thai are incredibly gracious & warm. The open air market/restaurants are incredible food, too.

IIRC Virgin has direct flights to the West Indies such as Antigua - and there's all inclusive resorts and such on many of the islands which are near to tourist cities where the cruise ships dock.
Could also be an option. |
