Sorry, but I had to postpone my viewing of the film for the next weekend.

Just couldn't miss the 3rd One Day International Cricket match between India and the Kiwis at Christchurch which turned out to be a real humdinger......with several records being broken along the way!!

If that's your son in that picture, I can't believe you took him to THAT R rated movie! Are you insane!? I actually walked out of that movie and told my buddy that I hoped my children NEVER see that! WAY TOO Much for a child my friend.

i found the wang part pretty funny and so were my seatmates. i like the steamy parts as well i have to agree with gedanken about the use of the hallelujah. pretty bad sound on that. everything else i liked specially the wang part!

Well, that R rating is there for a reason.

As for the wang and the sex scene, both have their place in the storyline, although I can see how it could easily and ironically detract from the storyline in itself.

As Alan Moore wrote the story, the sex scene is important because it highlights how Dan Dreiberg was literally impotent without his superhero identity.

Regarding the wang bit, it really wasn't clearly described in the movie, but in the comic Dr Manhattan started out with a full skintight suit and helmet, and as he went along he had fewer items of clothing, progressing in parallel with his detatchment from society. I suppose you'd have to have read the comic to get that part, but that's a bit of a double-edged sword because you'd know what the movie left out.

I just saw it last night and very much enjoyed it. Rorschach was GREAT. I loved the character. Yeah, there was plenty of violence and sex but it was appropriate for the story I thought.

My friend leaned over to me at one point with a big smile on his face and said " Damn, this isn't no Spider Man" and he didn't mean it in a negative way. I'm like Nope.. I was getting bored with all the scenes with big blue's schvantz swinging as I didn't see the point. After the initial shock value it seemed like a bit of overkill but the great sex scene on the airship more than made up for the extended pickle show.

I can't wait till it comes out in BluRay as well so I can watch it at home on my own big screen. I think it's one of those type of movies you need to see a few times to see everything.

I would have given it an 8 out of 10 because like what James mentioned, I haven't read the graphic novel so it was all entertaining to me.

hi guys, apart from watches i am a big comics nut. the original book is my favorite novel and i have to admit that i don't expect the film to be a masterpiece. whenever books are adapted it is very difficult because the readers have already built up an image in their own mind about how it all looks and works. i would have thought this would make a much better tv series than film given the conplex multi layered plot. everyone do themselves a favour, see the film first , then read the book. oh yeah, theres a dvd animation of "the black freighter" out on dvd to accompany the film.

As a dedicated listener of Howard Stern, there has been much talk of this movie. But the one common conclusion is that there is way too much male nudity. Big blue penis? Gross.

Sorry to dull this conversation but did anyone recognize the watch that john(Dr. Manhattan) was wearing as his intrinsic field was removed? It seemed to be an old heirloom tool watch (perhaps magnetic resistant or helium filled... seemed to have that look about it with the minimalist dial) with the worn trituim etc. It could have just been a one-off which would explain the lack of branding. The font on it was very interesting though and if a replica exists (or an attainable genuine) i would be interested as a fan of the movie and the look of it.

It's funny how this is a watch forum and no one mentioned that or the fact that his dad was a watchmaker!

Saw it with Zemina this afternoon.....and we both quite liked it. I'd give it a 6½ out of 10.

Whereas it took off the blocks at a slow pace, the movie sped up around half way through and then kept on going.

The action shots were some of the best I've seen in a long time as they were all in slow-motion and superbly choreographed. Special effects were mind blowing and the actress truly beautiful.

All in all.....2½ hours of good entertainment.

What did Zemina think of all the scenes with Big Blue's dangly bits all about? All the girls in the theater snickled every time he was on!

My friends 14 year old son asked his Grandma to take him to the movie. Told her it was from a comic book so she took him. Can't wait to hear from him what his son and mother-in-law thought!

The original work is a seminal disection of the popular twentieth century graphic literary medium and the movie is all about the wang.

PS All those who think worst superhero movie ever...see the plot as Moore originally intended...Doc M as Superman, NiteOwl as Batman, Jupiter as Wonder Woman etc and now think about what he was trying to say!

It was artistic because it was blue and swinging and rendered to pixel perfection by a special fx house whereas yours is brown, wrinkled and shrivelled and probably looks like a smaller version of Cyril Sneer's schnozz!!!!!!!!!

I saw it during the benefit for North Country Mediation's Dinner and a Movie Night. I thought the special effects were great and that they will look awesome in Blue Ray. My friend loved it, my wife hated it and thought it was too violent. You gotta' admit the axe in the head was brutal. I never read the comic books so I cannot say if it was like the original story line. I was heavily in to the Science Fiction Fantasy Genre for a long time when I was in the military all those years ago. Never got in to comic books. Loved mystery and Sci Fi fantasy.

In the comic, Rorschach handcuffed the guy to the stove, doused the place with petrol, handed him a hacksaw, said, "Don't bother sawing - you'll never make it in time", threw a match and went out to watch the place burn down.

Either way, the scene describes the point where Walter Kovacs finally snaps and stops being just a guy in a mask, becoming Rorschach instead. In the comic it's the dog that gets the cleaver in the head (before its owner gets home) and Kovacs' transformation takes place as the blade strikes. It wasn't all that well conveyed in the movie.
