The new Corvette. Whatever it is, C5, C6, C7 or currently the C8. Want to be the first on your block to own one, it will cost you many dollars over MSRP. Be patient and wait for the hype to die down and for those poor suckers go through the first few years of a new GM product and you can pick up a new one for a substantial discount off of MSRP.

Same for the new 911. Most Ferraris.

Rarely do you see this kind of behavior over the new F150, but then they make nearly a million of them every year. Yes, that's right. I googled it.

I'm a long-time Corvette fan/owner, and everyone at work keeps asking me when I'll get a new C8. I reply that I won't get one until it has three pedals. I feel like getting a t-shirt made so that they'll stop bothering me about it. Not once has anyone asked me when I'm getting a new watch.

Prices seem to be down a little bit but I still can’t get over paying over MSRP.

There is another (possible) option...

Purchase grey now but put yourself on list at AD. Make memories and enjoy grey GMT now. Once AD GMT arrives, flip it. Whatever profit you make will reduce the price of the grey you bought.

Buy anywhere around $16.5-17k and you won’t get hurt with the BLRO.
It’s a luxury purchase for me so $5k either way wouldn’t raise a blip of concern for such a outstanding watch. You have to factor in what your time is worth.
If Rolex raised their msrp and you paid $16.5k out the door with sales tax would it make you feel any better???

I am taking my BLNR on a two week Disney World family vacation I splurge for every year. New watches and vacation is a great combo.

We love it but learned you have to really do it right to be relaxed, pampered and the full experience. We stay on property at the Grand Floridian (club level) and take our time with the park hopper tickets. We still never get to see 1/3 of what we want to especially with kids. It becomes too hectic when you try to race through this size of a vacation.
The Polynesian and the Grand Floridian is our favorite. My wife and daughter do the spa, princess tea party, BBB boutique, etc... We book a lot of the exclusive events way in advanced (Cinderella‘s castle meals, etc..). What we like at the club level is everything and anything you want or need is provided with a smile. Great watch spotting territory. So far my last few trips I took a LVc and then a CHNR last year. This year the new BLNR.

This. I really enjoy my modest 5 digit sub. But I spent wayyyy too long waiting for it. Not financially. If I had bought it 5 years earlier and spent 5K more, it still would have been worth it since I would have got to enjoy it all that time. Same with all the stuff that helps us enjoy the relatively few years we have here.

I went grey for the mark 1 version and am very happy. Can’t get those vibrant colors from an AD now anyway so you’re stuck paying more. I’m a big fan of the blueberry/purple/fuchsia colors. I think they look awesome and sort of like a faded bezel from back in the day. Mark 2 and mark 3 I would not pay above retail for.
