The pictures I took that day really don't show just how bad the bracelet was. The scratches would catch my fingernail when i'd run my finger over the bracelet. These deep scratches were all over the bracelet and on most of the links. You can polish out smaller scratches but you'd have to remove waaaay too much metal to buff out the damage done to this particular DJ. Also it completely ruined the look of the watch because the polished centre links were really jacked up and the damage on the bracelet was more attention grabbing than the Rolex itself.

Exactly why I don’t have any brothers!

Seriously, that sucks but can’t wait to see the pics when it comes back.

Ouch, that is really hard to look at. I can't even begin to imagine how hard that must be to go through.

Yeah, he's much more into cars than he is watches. On top of that he had been saving up for a 997 Gt3 for a good long while. Since I have more than one watch he sometimes wears mine. I don’t mind it at all since I can only wear one watch at a time. Plus we are very close and live together in the same house. It would make a lot more sense for him to borrow one of mine than spend money on a new one, especially given his level of interest in watches in the first place. People in GCC countries usually tend to have a "whats mine is yours" attitude towards their family members.
While a healthy amount of scepticism should be encouraged, I can assure you that yours is misplaced.

Warmest regards,
Ibrahim AlOthman

I've always been fond of Dr. Tom's photos of his Platona with all its scratches.

The guy that left his Air King on the hood of his car and then drove off, it fell off on the highway and was run over a bunch of times lol, he ended up putting a youtube video crying and asking for hand me outs so he could buy another one. If i remember correct a TRF membr bought the watch and got it back to working condition.

I’d be more interested in the real story as to how it happened. There is no way on God’s green earth you could do that much damage and not know it.

WOW, I didn't know that anything had survived that crash. Thanks for the link.

My brother went to school with Todd at Wheaton Academy and Wheaton College where they played soccer together. I met him once at a game. Great guy. RIP

So did your brother do some explaining? As well as pay for the bill.

I fully expect that to be covered by him, family or not. The watch looks worse than mil-subs that went to war in the trenches.

It certainly will be covered by him, he has already sent me what it'll cost to repair it. Im pretty sure he took a tumble over a slab of concrete. That part about it looking worse than mil-subs in the trenches seriously gave me a good laugh.

I am familiar with the culture and the brotherly love. Money and possessions are not looked at the same way around the world. At the end of the day, the relationship with your brother/family is worth a lot
more than a watch. Ask your brother if I can borrower his car when I visit Kuwait next. LOL

Siblings are way more treasured where I live. My brother gave me 3 Rolex watches, 2 new cars over the years and just promised me a new Patek Aquanaut if I lose 40lbs.
