Life is far too short to worry about how other people treat their material possessions.

I think that if I was concerned about scratches, I wouldn't wear a nice watch. Same as the car. I couldn't stand the scratches on the car (not that it was so great), so I got a car I didn't care would get scratched. Seems impossible to avoid, so why drive myself insane every time it happened?
The watch doesn't bother me when it gets scratched, so I guess I'll keep it... :-) I think I may be a little too practical. Another example is a couch. My dogs slowly destroy one of my couches, so I just told my wife that every time we get a new couch in that room, expect to be replacing it regularly. Once you have the right mind set, it doesn't bother you as much. |

My wife does the same thing. I got her a like new 1980 two tone Tiffany dial datejust only because she loves Tiffany.
She was wearing the watch and all was going well but silly me didn't put two and two together. She had a Tiffany bangle in her jewelry box that needed to be repaired and polished. So for Christmas a few years ago, plus other stuff, I took to my guy and had it repaired and shined up. In any event, should have bought her a beater datejust and skipped the polish on the bangle. The two have been joined ever since. At first it bugged me, finding a beautiful twenty five year old watch like new but I found a way to get over it. I don't ever!!!! pick it up and look at it.
