No and Hell No. But, as always, you do you.

I worked with a guy that did, I think he had a GMT and a Kermit.

Can't remember the reason, nor did it seem to bother him.

it's just fashion - do what you want

I started doing this 2 years ago and haven't looked back. Id like an even smaller apple watch for what i use it, health tracking and notifications.

Ive came to this situation once I got back to mechanical watches in 2018 after a 3 years marriage with an Apple Watch. I missed the data collection the smartwatch gather during the day and thought what if I wear them both. In 2019 I got the garmin 5X and was even more impressed by its capabilities, to garmin’s bad luck, I also purchased my first Rolex in late 2019:-).
I find the garmin too big to go with another watch, the Apple Watch may be acceptable but the ideal option in my opinion would be a smart wristband that garmin or Fitbit sells. These trackers are capable enough and can go so well with another watch.
All that said, I e seen many people now wearing 2 watches “mechanical and smart” one on each wrist.

been gifted an Apple watch, so I wear it on my right wrist, and a mechanical piece on my left. initially, few people would be curious and ask why i wear two watches. eventually no one really cares. :)

It's a Garmin Fenix 6S, I'm very fond of its technology and data analystics.
I however can't bear to remove my mechanical watch.

My question to the masses is: Are you double wristing (one watch on each wrist) in 2020? Do you think it's acceptable? Has anyone called you out on the stupidness? It started gaining popularity in 2016 with the Apple watch release. It's been 4-5 yrs now, Is it yet part of normality?

As some personal history for my contextual fear: Last year I was on a little boat taxi in Lake Geneva. The gentlemen opposite me was wearing a Platinum Daytona on the left, AP on the right. I thought he looked ridiculous.

I don't want to be ridiculous! Perhaps too late. But anyone else doing the double? (With a apple/fitbit/garmin type watch?) I think i'll keep one safely tucked under my cuff for now!
I have a Fenix 5S and love the watch but it's a fitness or hard duties watch. I love it for swim metrics and heart rate data but no way I'd wear it with my Rolex. I love my Fenix and have various straps but it cannot compare to my analog watches. An Apple watch neither.

I could understand a fitbit or some other thin health tracker but not another watch that size, a Fenix is bigger than any watch watch I own, so it would look silly imo. If you have a Samsung phone, the Samsung health app is awesome, but unless you have an Apple watch I haven't found anything comparable for my iPhone.

1. Been double since the original Samsung Watch with that crazy low-rez camera built-in on the watch band (2013, am an early adopter in tech. Then got Samsung second gen, and third gen... now using Gear S3 with 4G LTE).

2. Acceptable? Back then peeps were not so kind. Yeah, kinda hurt emotionally yet over the years grew a thicker skin. Today, seems it is now far more acceptable, though my Michelin tire guy dealer friend still kinda LOLs a bit @ me about it.

3. In the last year or so even peeps here on TRF have said less than favorable things about my double. Pffft, what --- ever. Be proud of 'who you are', never compromise!!!

JMHO YMMV

I’m surprised none of the smart watch folks have done this (or maybe they already have, and I just haven’t seen one?)- In the 50s-60s, Speidel and others made watchbands with a small perpetual calendar built in. Seems perfectly do-able today to build a small screen into a band, either just below the dial or at the clasp.

(If any TRFer patents this and makes their millions, my commission will be very reasonable! )

Honestly this topic has cross my mind couple times. Its the main reason why i have not bought into apple watch yet. I have had fit bit type of bracelet which i wear on my right wrist. I typically wear a gold bracelet or those athletic rubber bands on my right wrist anyways... so when the day comes, I am sure I will wear a mechanical watch on my left and apple watch on my left.

I’ve thought of getting some kind of clip attachment for my Apple Watch so I don’t need to wear it on my wrist. This would work if you don’t need to monitor your heart rate, which is not important to me.

Pebble on right for fitness notifications and sleep tracking charge up every 6 days, wrist watch on left wrist. Been doing it for years with only the odd comment I just tell them ones a fitness tracker and let them work out which is which. I have reached an age where I don't give a stuff what people think or don't think.
I did have a look st the Brietling B55 but it was too big and way too expensive.

I think it’s so embarrassing

If you have an Apple Watch why do you need a Rolex on your other wrist?!

So embarrassing

Reasons for two watches

I wear a 114270 on one wrist and a 16570 on the other to keep them wound. I don't like the idea of a watch winder. It's inconspicuous with long sleeves. In the summer I wear one and put the other in a watch sleeve in my pocket.

If vacationing on Lake Geneva, I might consider wearing both rather than leaving one in a hotel.

David Letterman -- "Why are you wearing two watches?"
A booze addled Peter O'Toole -- "Because I don't wish to waste time looking at the wrong wrist."

My son bought the same Garmin Fenix 6S, 42mm in sapphire last week as part of a Xmas present from us.

Is is an amazing unit.

I did try wearing my Apple cellular on my right wrist once but it felt really weird.

I wear mechanical watches on my left arm and my Apple Watch on my right. I pretty much treat my Apple Watch as a phone on my wrist (I usually keep my phone in the car) I actually get asked about it all the time. I don't really care much for the opinions of other people. If a guy can wear 6 bracelets on each arm why can't I wear 1 watch on each?

Mechanical watch always come off if I'm doing any sort of physical labor. Apple Watch can stay on because I got it in ceramic and it's been pretty bulletproof no matter how hard I knock it against anything.

I think a fit bit, which is more bracelet than watch, is fine.

A Rolex and an Apple Watch? What for? To show the world you also have a Rolex and can keep analogue? You're already wearing something that will tell you the time - more accurately than the Rolex.

Two full-blown watches: yep, the masses will think you're... but who cares what the masses think. As long as you can justify wearing the Rollie to yourself, stuff em'!

By that logic nobody needs a watch since our phones are incredibly accurate and already has the time. Also if you are buying a rolex or any other luxury brand with the main goal to tell time accurately you might as well go get a casio and save tons of money.

To me luxury watches are just a statement/fashion piece, nothing more than an expensive accessory that just so happens to tell time. You appreciate it for the style and the art.

The apple watch is awesome as usually my phone is on silent and it allows me to see who is calling/text/email without being disruptive. Also it gives me a huge amount of information at just a glance without having to pull out the phone that a fitbit or bracelet type accessory just cant do. The face I use can display the temperature, day date, sunset sunrise times, next meeting, activity tracker, next reminder all in one glance. Which funnily enough you cant even do on a phone.

I think you made my point more clearly, forcefully, than I wanted to. Average person on the street catches a glimpse of your Rolex on the left and an Apple watch on the right... Well... Let's just say that 'statement' watch is certainly telling them something about you. I'll leave it to you to figure out what that is.

I work out every day and wear my Apple watch for workouts only. Otherwise it sits on the charger. My Sub is worn the rest of the time with my I-Phone in my pocket.

I wear two mechanical wrist watches sometimes. Nobody notices or cares tbh.

If someone does actually notice, Maybe for a few moments, they’ll think you’re an idiot and then go back to doing their own thing.

Far more eccentric behaviour out there that’ll grab attention than someone wearing two watches.

Based on the number of posters, including the OP, who are banned, I am guessing that TRF doesn't approve.

FWIW, I'd never do it because I think it looks weird, and doing it with two high-end watches is a sure sign of flexing.

Ha - this thought crossed my mind but not sure if I can bring myself to wear a mechanical and an apple watch at same time. I just recently got my first Rolex after wearing a SS Apple Watch with SS link bracelet exclusively for the past 7 years ( I kept upgrading the watch and keeping the SS bracelet). Now I only wear my brand new Sub Date, but I really became dependent on the notifications and other features lol. I’ve been missing tons of calls and caught myself putting my sub up to the POS readers at the supermarket and coffee shop to pay lol. Yeah a simple bracelet with those features would be cool
