How bad do you want Batgirl? It is a lovely piece, not easy to get. It may be a while before you get another call from your AD. How much to do you "love" the lesser pieces in your collection? If you really want the Batgirl, buy it now, on credit, if necessary, but immediately set out to sell your 'lesser' watches, to help fund and justify the Batgirl.

Easy: Sell the IWC and Omega... you‘ll loose money on these, but you gain value on the Rolex.

Why are they lesser watches are all watches today thought of as little more than ££££££££$$$$$$$$.And as far as I remember was not the batgirl some sort of comic book character mainly bought by juveniles.

Collecting watches should not be about financial gain but about getting that piece that speaks to you. It’s an emotional game not a stock transfer. Better for OP to trade for what he wants now rather than keep a collection he does not. Passing on that BLNR now will very likely NOT present itself again. Besides, in all honesty, no one knows what the value of the BLNR will be five years from now but I can tell you it will be worth a lot more than the IWC, Omega FOIS and Tudor. The value of a consumer good is not what you pay for something when you first buy it but rather what the market price is now. And OP sounds like he’d be a happier collector with the GMT. I presented just a way to pay for it. That’s what I’d do. And That’s my point

My opinion is that you should pass (for now). You're not quite ready financially, but that's a good thing - because there will surely be opportunities to purchase the batgirl for a much better price over the next few year, perhaps even at discounts from MSRP (which is historically normal).

The rolex bubble won't last forever. Furthermore, the batgirl is still decreasing from its artificial introductory high point, and it will be in production for quite awhile. If you were after the discontinued batman, it could be a trickier decision. But this seems straightforward.

Considering your current watch lineup I'l sell one and get it. May not get a 2nd chance. Buying that watch in current climate at MSRP is even an investment, i.e. if you were to flip it you'd immediately make more money.

No need to freak out, everyone, I'm not suggesting to flip it. Just trying to illustrate my point of how it can potentially be considered an "investment" in this current climate.

I’d guess by now any AD worth his salt will have found another buyer

I don't flip, so the decision for me would be easy. If I can't afford it I will forget about it. At least for the time being. Maybe you fancy some consolidation? Or a collection refresh. That's your call.

Im in the same boat OP. I'm on the list (just got on a week ago) for a BLNR Jubilee but I am in wealth management and as such, this hit in portfolio values will hit my 3/31 fee bill cylce ie my income will take a haircut (5-10% maybe). With this, i am now not so sure i want to drop $10k on a watch right now and I did jsut get a Sub 114060 last may from said AD. I'm really toiling because if i take my name off the list, i may never get back on one, lol. Decisions decisions.... plus the wife wants to redo the bathroom, side door, driveway, shed, and on and on and on.....

Good decision on not getting the BLNR. Or, you could have also sold your Omega, IWC to finance this watch.
I have been seeing a lot of Rolex incomings from the members, and hope you will get another shot at this beautiful timepiece again soon.

Good choice to pass OP. Putting yourself under financial stress would have made you regret/resent the purchase. I can’t hold onto things I have negative feelings towards.
