I've heard people say "I had to wait a month for the warranty card. This is in case the watch is returned".
In that case, watches are clearly returned by some people.

If it happened to me, and the AD started babbling, I'd lay it on the counter with boxes, and walk out.
This, after telling the manager I am returning defective merchandise for a full refund.

From there, it would be a case of informing the CC company, and filing for a refund.

Sorry to hear about this Neil.

Everyone here, including yourself, knows the excitement of buying a new Rolex and this must have taken a bit of the shine off the whole process for you.

I also believe that it will all work out for you in the end and you will get a brand new watch.

Hang in there mate and keep us posted.

Spoke with AD today, they have sent watch back to rolex for a replacement, but I have said to the AD if it takes any longer than a week to resolve I will be wanting a refund as I'm not willing for them to hold my money for any longer than that. The AD agreed to this which is a plus I suppose.

To say I'm disapointed is an understatement.

Most AD's can't get one IIc in, so expecting them to have a second one on hand to give you "on the spot" is wishful thinking.

They should be in a better position to get the replacement, the faulty GMT IIC is part of the order that Rolex gave out, so this isn't an extra one, it's just a replacement.
