(this counts only for these models as the absolute premium has been very high and I doubt they came down BELOW MSRP) |

I’m always happier and actively try to pay less irrespective of circumstances. I mean, isn’t that everyone’s prime directive?

Hopefully this unfortunate economic downturn will end the crazy sport watch bubble. All the speculators trying to make a quick buck on watches will have a reality check really soon.....

Interested to see actual reduction figures (if any), I am in the market for 15202ST for the last 2 years with zero luck. I don't believe in paying premiums for grey dealers so would be good to see them available for real collectors who honestly love the piece

I think it's the only watch in the current collection of Audemars Piguet that's worth X2 MSRP... Do you have any history in an AP boutique? |

Unfortunately not. I am trying build history. BTW it is not the only watch that sells with high premium, the skeleton as well as all ceramic perpetual calendar models sell very high as well. |

Also one can still negotiate and be nice about it and just tell the AD your honest opinion that you appreciate that he got you the watch but given the current environment you feel a discount is is the way to go. I for one always try to negotiate but then some family members including my wife always get embarrassed and can't stand it ... go with your gut and make sure you regret nothing. |

I hate threads like this, and even more so when we all can play Monday-morning quarterback.
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, knew what was going to happen back in March/April. Prices dipped maybe 10% for a very short period of time, and as we now know they are up 10% to 25% almost across the board. Will it last? Will it "correct"? Who the hell knows. I'm done trying to figure out what the right time to buy a watch is. If you truly love it and have the funds, it'll work out for the best. That's the only guarantee in all of this. |

If you read in between the lines it’s very easy to identify people who speak from experience, versus others that speak from a hypothetical perspective. Of course a few thousand is a lot of money, and those who actually earn it and have it will continue to maintain that perspective.

Note: I’m obviously highlighting the “few thousand dollar” difference, I’m not implying a 200k purchase goes without thought. |
