I hate it with a passion. The SS Sub is my favorite watch but I find the Bluesy beyond gaudy. It may actually be my least favorite Rolex. I’d rather wear a YMII. To each his own.

Still one of my favorite two tone watches, and I absolutely love the sunburst blue dial, so would still love to get my hands on one. But from what I’m reading, its flashiness would be a deterrent.

I like the way it looks, but too flashy for me. It borders on gaudy, and is definitely loud. I also think they look nice when new, but don't age as gracefully as other watches. Mind you, I think this is true for two-tones in general.

Yes. So much so that I have one.

I love the Smurf too, but I won't pay that for a watch. Maybe one day...

I had one and it was a too flashy for me. Looked better in the watch box than on my wrist.

It's perfect and is my 'go to' watch almost exclusively!

It's really not that flashy. I'm not a flashy guy at all. I work in a big law office, and it fits right in with everything I wear, whether it's a suit and tie or casual Friday. It has a nice pop of color in the dial, and the two-tone is really well done and everything blends together. It's certainly not gaudy or ostentatious.

TRF doesn't mirror real life in a lot of cases. There are a lot of watch hardliners here who think you should be wearing SS only with a black or white dial, but I've never met anyone like this in real life, and I associate largely with young professionals, tech people, and finance people in their 30s. In other words, not flashy or gaudy people.

If you like it, get it. Don't let anyone convince you what type of watch you should or shouldn't be wearing, especially not TRF, which I love, but which is also a bubble of groupthink in some cases. Get what you like and enjoy!

I’ve owned a 5 digit since 2002 and wore it daily with no sense of being too blingy. I had it serviced in November and after a week of not wearing my watch I couldn’t stand it and picked up a 116610, so for the first time I have my Bluesy in rotation. Simply love the watch. I’ve worn it doing everything and never felt like it was out of place. I’m not a flashy person and rarely wear a suit or even business casual...

Big fan

Picked one up new in 2014 just after they switched from flat blue to sunburst on the 6 digit.

Lovely watch although mine is very beat up now.

I have read in the past some think its too bling and other like the blue sunburst dial which I believe looks stunning in the daylight.

Do you prefer the TT, Yellow solid gold or white gold version.
It’s probably the most loved watch on the forum. I love it also

People who describe this as not blingy or gaudy I think are using a different definition of the word than I am.

Yes I agree. If it had a diamond bezel it would be blingy

116613LB is stunning and feels great. Only gets worn with blue, brown, or light colored dress attire or similar color casual wear. Standard sub is the perfect pair for all the other wardrobe combinations.
Definitely not a “one and done” watch to have.

Great Watch, love it and gets wrist time. I own the Pepsi BLRO, Daytona Ceramic - Black, AP and PAM. This watch provides a nice balance and frankly - variety is the spice of life :)

Beautiful watch. Probably one of the few 2 tones I would ever look at buying one day. The combination of all the colors on it are perfect.

Maybe the most polarizing watch in the lineup. Love it (me) or hate it. People are told two tone is blingy or passé. But try one on yourself when that is possible and see what you think in person.

Exactly when I tried it on it was quite an experience. My wife who had stated she hates two tone watches was converted and now tells me I was an idiot for not picking it up.

I think it's beautiful but not practical as a true dive watch. Further, I'd have to be living a much different lifestyle than current to wear one. Like living in Palm Beach and wearing pastel colored shorts, docksiders, and shirts with various sport fish printed on them. Now the white gold sub, I'd wear that anywhere.

Had to break my forum lurking ways over this topic lol...

5 years ago... no way. I was all about black, white, or any shade of grey in between. Getting a little bit older, been finding a newfound appreciation for colors! Blue being towards the top of my list of colors, I find the dial quite stunning.
