Easily be able to let go of 126600 mk1. Not so much 116500 White. Since you have 116519LN I’d get ride of 116500. But 116519... no way. All 3 for a single pp. I personally wouldn’t.

I don’t personally like the Nautilus, and I do like the watches you have to trade, but I’d consider trading those watches for some other higher end watch that I loved.

I’ve done it in the past.....traded for that model PP. looking back, I wish I didn’t. With what you’d have left, I wouldn’t do it. Keep the WG Daytona, WG sub, 1680 somehow...then maybe. I personally like PP, but only certain models...the more robust ones, but that’s just my personal tastes. The 5712 just feels too fragile/dainty compared to most any Rolex. You may like a more fragile feeling, smaller watch, I don’t know, but it wasn’t for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a gorgeous piece, but didn’t fit my lifestyle. The 5524G and 5990 are more my style...bigger, bolder, more robust.
Very personal preferences in this hobby...that’s what makes is fun/interesting. Good luck!

I’d have to say no. The nautilus would be a great piece, but not at the sacrifice of 3 other great pieces + cash. Have you looked at the 3800 nautilus? I really like the dimensions and symmetry of the dial on the 3800. It would also be a much cheaper option. It even comes in YG which would be unique. All up to you though, just my opinion on the matter.

I’ve tried to fall in love with Patek but I just can’t. The bezels look like scratch magnets. I have an AP diver, so I know what it looks like if they get scuffed. Then, I read that the complications may be considered fragile, by some. That’s a subjective term, but it gives me pause.

On top of that, the service wait time for a complicated movement could be many, many months (approaching a year for complications?) when it’s time?

I’d love for other owners with actual PP service experience on these complex pieces to chime in on these 2 aspects, which I have read. 1) Bezel scratches and 2) long service wait times.

I am not stating those two as being facts, becuase I have no firsthand experience. No point in flaming me. . I’m just restating what I’ve read on here as to why I have not yet added a PP to my collection. I want to add an aquanaut, but I like having something I can throw on and not worry about banging into a ladder, or something. That happened tonight with my new 116519LN. No tears, no problems. Just a ding.

The appearance of a watch is completely subjective, but can you imagine a poll with what watch looks better between the Daytona ceramic white bezel and this Patek? I get wanting a Patek, but for the love of god man keep the Daytona, or sell it to me!

I would not do it. I just don’t find the Patek designs appealing. But if it smiles to you, go for it. Good luck.

Considering a trade...would you do it?

I saw your post first on the PP forum.

Personally.... Wouldn’t do it. Even though you have the smurf, sub, and PM Daytona - this is a lot to give up for the 5712.

The lack of symmetry on the 5712 dial disturbs me, so it’s not my fav among the Nautilus models.

I wouldn't. But you have one Daytona to spare. I'd be left alone with the 116500 and the SD

I have a Nautilus and it's a nice watch but I prefer my Rolexes (Daytona, Sub, OP 39) for the most part. The Nautilus bezel is totally a scratch magnet so you have to be careful wearing it. Sub is the best daily beater and if I only had one watch that would be the one. I have some other decent pieces as well and the Nautlilus gets worn but I'm more careful with it than the Rolexes which can take a licking. Also Patek service is a PITA! They will keep your watch forever and it costs and arm and a leg to get it serviced. Whoever says that Patek is in a different league....I'm not sure other than cost of purchase and service that league does for you. Patek are no more reliable, accurate or exclusive in the eyes of average Joe's and I think you have some pretty nice Rolex's there. Keep 'em!

I agree, even though I’m no fan of the Daytona, I would still keep the three you have.

No. I would not trade a Daytona for a dress watch company pretending to be a sport watch. The Genta design very much shows its age and is a clear 70’s design. Because PP slapped their name on it, people go bananas but it’s not worth giving up 3 great watches. If you were to go PP, go with one of their chronos or dress watches, that what they do best:

Just my opinion but the 5712 is a complete and utter waste of money at current prices. You could look at Lange at that pricing and get something truly special vs overhyped SS. I’d still rather have all those Rolex over a Lange or Patek though.

The 5712 is one of the nicest Pateks available.

Much much better than any Aquanaut imho. You get to a point where you just get bored of Rolex especially when your collection is mostly Rolex. You start to want something different.

If your comfortable with that trade then why not? The 5712 is a killer watch.

I would keep 116500 White, trade the other two and buy pre owned 5712 for around $50k. You might need to add some cash to that.

PP 5712 is a beautiful timepiece, but it isn't worth $70k for stainless steel watch. I would rather have 2 PM Rolex for that money.

Or go for AP RO 15500OR with rose gold bracelet, AP has the best looking bracelet especially rose gold.

In light of this, and if you really like Patek, then yes, go for it!

I would trade the oysterflex daytona and Sea Dweller in a heartbeat.

Truly not a fan not that Nautilus though. Dial is way too busy for me.
