I sent her pics of the colorful OPs and she loves them and asked me to talk to my AD to get her the coral one (She will pay for it) My wife wants the Tiffany blue. My AD said she got 2 calls constantly yesterday from her clients, the kermit and the OPs for wifes/gfs etc. Rolex knows what they are doing. |

I’m going to see if I can wave one in myself and I’m not the demographic by a long shot.

Plus, women spend way more on luxury consumables and change it out more often. Men, tend to fall in love with what they have.

I also think Rolex stole a page out of the Grand Seiko playbook.

With you on that - Never gave the OP serious thought before, but out of nowhere it jumped to the top of my list. Want to see the dials in person, but Turquoise looks great. 36 seems like the way to go.

Not sure they are particularly targeted at women, especially in the 41.
Definitely a different angle to a classic day date, but if you look outside of Rolex there is a lot of more casual colour from big brands - AP offshore and the new code 11.59 releases as well as Richard Mille and Zenith’s recent ultraviolet immediately come to mind, plus the obvious Doxa. |

I think they’re an awesome addition to the line. I believe the people here trying to link them to a certain demographic are way off base as I think they will appeal to a very wide audience. I will allegedly see them all at a trunk show in a couple of weeks and am leaning towards picking one up. Toughest thing will be picking one out as almost all of them appeal to me.

Good point...they're not for me, but this angle was in my blind spot.

LOL here I go. I am far from a feminist, but this is the most offensive post I have ever seen on this forum. Though I often disagree with much of the sentiment, I have to speak up on this topic.
#1: Women do not care that a watch can dive to 4000 meters The reason that I purchased a Submariner was so that I could wear it in the ocean. It has been all over the world, in all sorts of bodies of water with the scratches to prove it, and I will never part with it. #2: Women often got their Rolex as a gift At age 21 and one week after graduating college, I bought myself my first watch (Sub) as a reward for landing my dream job. My boyfriend at the time (now husband and now also watch obsessed) thought I was crazy. #3: OP is simple enough that women can afford to buy it on their own In the last 12m, I have indeed purchased for myself an OP... as well as a new Sub, 2 GMTs, a RG YM, and a PP Aquanaut. #4: Women do not like investment risks and put their money in savings accounts I work as an investment banker at GS. My personal portfolio is up 21% YTD vs. 10% S&P 500. Oh, I'm also only 29 and doing this all while expecting my first child during a pandemic. Tbh I've never been more thankful for my husband than I am right now... no wonder so many people on here are single. |

These new colours from Rolex are more about a much wider market appeal as well as breaking the stereotype of Rolex being for older people. I can see more people seriously aspiring to own a Rolex watch going forward. |

My issue with OPs is not them introducing new colorful versions. It's different. First of all I think they made a mistake by switching to double 3-6-9 markers. Discontinuing 39 is a mistake (unless it's the same thing as DJ41 which as actually 39.5) as 41 might be a bit too big. And finally I think they got rid of options for those not looking for crazy colors. There was white dial that was not the traditional black but was still classic. And they had the grape, rhodium and blue that had accents in other color and sunburst effect. They looked colorful, but not overly colorful. Now you're stuck with silver with weird and IMO out of place gold accents, black and blue dials that have no accents in other colors and look same way any other black or blue dial Rolex does and then those solid bright colors. So you either get no color or all the color. When people mention DD Stella dials, you could still get the same DD with black, white or champagne or even some of the more reserved colors like darker blue or red. Whereas OP41 took that away. I do like that they made all OPs same style so they can be matched, for example OP41 and OP31 in turquoise, his and hers. But they could leave some more conservative options such as rhodium with blue accents or blue with green, or not have the watch be a 41. If they just took the already existing OP39s and added those dials and new movement I wouldn't mind it.

Hope all goes well with your baby boy. My wife is a Rolex wearing midwife I got mine from my Grandfather's legacy through my Mother who inherited his pocket watch which was his only possession of any value when he passed away. I used to marvel at the movement with the caseback opened up which ruined me for life |

We’ve got two so far, a boy and a girl. Purchased a Ceramic Daytona for my son and a Cartier Tank for my daughter. Seems like you are well on your way to building a nice collection to pass along to the next generation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm a colourist, I love Rolex's green sub and ice blue plats, Omega's orange PO and Breitling's yellow Seawolf, so those colours are OK by me, but not sure about a red dial, altho I think they will go down well in China.
