My favourite was my company provided "car phone" that I got in the early nineties. I thought I was somebody driving around calling all my friends.

Original startac it was revolutionary for its time. And the easy battery swap was priceless.

I think I had a pager from 1995 till 1997ish. May have gotten the Nokia brick around 97 or so. Had to get my buddies mom to get it for me and let me pay her because my step dad would have preferred I be in the Stone Age. I’ve got a few of the old phones in a box somewhere.

I do remember it was when minutes were stupid like $0.50 every minute. I racked up a $600+ bill my first month. Had to work my tail off for my buddies mom and give her any money I could come across to pay it.

My first was something like this, which was a hand me down from my wife after her company upgraded.

First pocket one was one of those Nokias.

I remember being one of the very first people to have a fixed mount analog Motorola mobile phone in my car (MN), circa 1988, due to my employer. I sure thought it was impressive. Something like the photo below.

It was cool to have a phone in the car if stuck in winter weather while traveling.I thought the antenna on the roof made me look important, and the orange glow from the phone while driving at night looked awesome.

Had some of those Motorola, Nokia and Blackberry models over the years as well.

God, how many $ I spent on minutes in those days. And I remember the phones were really expensive.

Ah yes, I sure do. The cooler ones I got after 2000 like the Star-Tac but in the 90s near the end I had an Ericsson, Nokia 5190 and 6188.
