How large is your wrist if I may ask since I also consider one, having a smaller wrist myself. Largest watch I can wear is a 40mm 116710.
I guess you tried a 42mm though.

What hollow links?

Are the RG and Platinum links on these not solid?

Links are solid gold from what I can tell. Mine has bumpers in between.

- F.P. Journe Linesport Thread -

My understanding is that the links are indeed hollow at least according to a few different watch press articles by 3rd parties.

The result is a more comfortable watch but I can understand some PM bugs who are accustomed to Rolex and AP not being a fan of that aspect. With the movement in solid gold as well the watches still have good weight. Of course my Ti version is light as a feather with the movement crafted mostly in aluminum.

Hi all,

My first post on RF! Big time WUS guy, so proud to say my first post will be on a Journe watch! Picked up the ars2 grey recently. What I can say is that this watch MUST be experienced on the wrist to understand it. Upon first opening, it is underwhelming in some ways--the fact it's not like anything else out there naturally causes brain fog given it's price tag. It is not until you put it on and wear it that you realize your wrist is sitting inside a gorgeous plush ultra high end watch masterpiece! It's honestly the most comfortable watch I've ever owned--a true treat for the wrist. It's like wearing silk pajamas for the wrist ha. The finishing as stated above is initially underwhelming as it's basically a grey titanium watch. However, as you study the dial, the bracelet, the shape, it rockets to an incredible enduring visual delight.

I see the everyday versatility in it as well. I've yet to notice it clashing with any sort of attire. I think what distinguishes this watch from nearly every other watch I've owned is that this watch is made to merge with your wrist, not exist as a piece of metal that tells time...if that makes sense. A timepiece that perfectly molds to your body and becomes essentially one with you (I've already had a couple moments I forgot I was even wearing it).

I can only foresee myself growing more and more attached to it as time passes. This watch has bones and depth to endure. I'll update with any future thoughts!

Thanks to the OP for this thread!!

This piece fits my lifestyle better than any HH sports piece given the comfort and relative durability of the bezel etc. Once my son was born wearing an RO or nautilus or aquanaut was pretty much off limits lol

I’m in the same boat, albeit with an older model so I don’t have the bezel. Once I started wearing it, it ended up being more and more the go-to. People underestimate the lightness and comfort until it’s on the wrist. This is the case with these Journe pieces and I feel with the Octo Finissimo (Titanium especially). For the latter I think the weight and comfort has really won people over.

Yes the octo chrono gmt was a go to for me for about a year. Sometimes I think selling was a mistake as it’s an absurd value proposition. I found the dial was a bit boring whereas the Journe has a lot more going on with the applied luminous Arabics, sapphire sub seconds, day/night, large date and PR.

I would like to see a factory rubber option on the current lineup.

Congratulations to all with these awesome pieces. I have never held one in the metal so I am reading this thread with intrigue. Thanks for posting pics.

They are great pieces. Depending on where you are located a red bar type meet up or a secondary dealer should be able to put one on your wrist. The boutiques are generally friendly as well they just might not have a lot to show or sell until production catches up to demand (if ever).

Cheers!

Just got mine yesterday. The titanium rattrapante is incredibly light. It is also surprising to receive a brand new but discontinued "rubber" version. Really amazing.

Congratulations! Sometimes with a small manufacturer like FPJ transitions happen very gradually. You did very well. This is on my list and fingers crossed will be mine one day.

Thank you! I bought accidentally. Actually, I am on the waiting list at boutique. They told me I need to wait for one year but one local dealer just called me yesterday and offered me this watch.

Wearing platty mauve dial today...

Winding it is a unique experience.

Talk about torque... :)

A powerhouse in that department, no doubt about it.

Every Journe I own I couldn't be happier with.

The FPJ LS line-up is just so good.

I do wish, as a sports watch, that it had >30M or >50M water resistance. That's a bit low for a sporty watch, in my opinion.

Yes, absolutely correct. The 30M water resistance is a big concern when actually doing some “sports”

Or even getting rained on, honestly.

I mean, I always figured 50M is the minimum for simply splashing water on your watch while washing your hands.

Love mine. Can't believe I didn't know about the micro-adjustment on the clasp. Mine now fits perfectly. Reading the Rolex thread of not wearing a Rolex in Barcelona, London or Paris - I'd wear this anyday. Sails right under muggers radar.......

Hang in there we are all waiting on a Journe. I know I am.

Re: the 30m WR I agree more would be strongly preferred. I sure as heck don’t worry about washing my hands or wearing it in the rain etc. This isn’t a rare vintage watch with irreplaceable parts. Nothing short of swimming would concern me.
