Well in this case he already wants to purchase two watches and is looking to turn that into 3 watches, with the BLRO for himself. I wouldn’t say that’s a bad bundle. Buying 30k in jewelry you don’t want for a watch is a bad bundle.

Agreed. I read ops post wrong. I thought he was buying just to get the watch he wanted. That is what I don’t get. Op is correct in asking for the BLRO

I just don’t get why you all don’t get that some people just want to buy many things?

Just because you don’t doesn’t mean other people don’t.

Insisting that everybody else is buying ‘stuff they don’t want only to get stuff they want’ is little more than a self serving strawman argument.

I absolutely agree with you. There is this reoccurring undertone that I see in posts that essentially infers that all individuals who buy jewelry or other non hawt Rolex at AD are just stupid idiots wasting their money on junk to obtain the good Rolex.

That simply isn’t the case. Many are buying what the AD has organically. They actually WANT the items they are buying and buy a lot with great frequency.

This thread devolved into that...the OP simply stated he wants to get some DJ for family members....hey...ya think it will get me a Pepsi?

Well that immediately triggered the negative comments regarding intent..etc.

All that being said, I don’t think the DJ will get OP a Pepsi, but it’s worth a shot!

Read posts 1 and 45 Peter.

OP wasn’t bundling.

Well don’t hold out on us here...how would you suggest someone get a BLRO from an AD in a reasonable timeframe?

Yes I believe that would get you the Pepsi. Since you are planning to buy those two Datejusts anyway I would ABSOLUTELY use that to pick up a sport model of your choosing. Go to several AD's - you will get that Pepsi

You are asking the wrong people. You need to ask the AD/SA.

2-tone ladies DJ should get you enough leverage for a sport Rolex. Good luck!

All this to buy jewelry?

How about asking the sales person

At my AD, a pepsi is around $50k previous purchase + a year wait. I think you may have more leverage with the two lady DJ with diamonds. If the first AD gives you the run around I'd suggest going to a few more. It isn't a guarantee by any means but you've got good leverage.

Like everyone else has said, just ask the AD. I would recommend speaking with the owner or the Manager though.

It’s a reasonable ask for sure. I dont know if you will get all 3 at the same time, but worth holding off until they can come through. I would present it as ready to buy the DJs when the Pepsi is available.

You should ask the dealer. They know how much they clear on the two Datejusts, how hard they are to get in and if that impacts their ability to get other Rolex models, how many BLROs they have in the back at a given time, and how much they wish to net on a transaction to justify them selling one to a specific customer (or moving them up in the order of preference). As you are buying two other Rolex models, the amount they net is likely much lower than they do on other items in the store of the same price (that don't say "Rolex".)

There are so many variables that it is going to vary by dealer and will likely vary at any given time.

i visited 2 local AD's and spoke with a SA at each store
Explained what I was looking for and left my info
learned that trying to get 2 of the SAME combination DJ36 was going to be very difficult

Mother in law went to a Rolex store with her friend who was buying a watch
she realized that she'd rather stick with DJ31 but she likes the full diamond bezel
so pricewise, the DJ31 will be a little higher than the DJ36

i think this actually make things easier since i'm not asking for 2 of the exact same DJ36
I'll update my request with the SA's and see what happens

Buying two DJs with diamond dials costs a bundle of money but much like London I imagine so I be surprised if your able to get a Blro, possibly an OP but best to ask the AD,,you may be lucky,,

Who really knows. It's worth a shot to ask. I wonder if it would even be a given that an AD could source two of those right now.

In early 2020, right before covid, I got a Black Daytona by also buying a 36mm DJ for my wife. My friend bought a Sub-C from the AD prior, and he introduced me. I got the Daytona in 31 days wait. Truly crazy and lucky and a very different experience than right now but that AD has earned my loyalty for life.

narrowing down the selection
MIL likes the DJ31 with diamond bezel and MOP dial
trying to gently steer my wife toward the Wimbledon setup on the DJ36

after much more website browsing and youtube watching, I am starting to really like the Skydweller. Unfortunately, I have never been able to try one on
I wonder if a Skydweller will be easier or harder to obtain than a Pepsi

If I had to guess, I would guess that it all depends on dial color. White, maybe black, seem like Pepsi territory, while blue looks to be out-of-this-world in-demand.

I think the question here, is what are you going to bundle to get the two DJ36's?

sadly, this is almost becoming a reality
DJ36 is not easy to find in stock
there is a beautiful DJ36, TT rose gold, diamond bezel, jubilee bracelet, MOP dial in stock at Century City
wife tried it on but thought the overall combination was a little too much as her everyday watch

but other than that one watch, there is almost nothing that comes close to what she is looking for

all the talk about AD's having the watches tucked away in the safe ... seems to be true

i finally got an opportunity to try on a Skydweller
it's a beauty
even my wife liked it
now I have been ruined because I am going to be chasing a Skydweller

Seriously though, I agree, sarcastically speaking. Sky’d is a beautiful watch, you do need the wrist to wear it though, or else it ends up wearing you (which isn’t a problem in itself).

I dunno. I’ve never been a fan of the dinner plate on the wrist look if the persons wrist is more narrow than tip to tip of the lugs - and even then that is the absolute max and not exactly a good fit. I can only just about get away with 6 digit 40mm Rolex. Anything bigger and it would just look silly. No point living in denial as much as I’d love to aspire to a SKyD
