No, sadly. That would actually solve the gray market problem now wouldn't it. Cant have that. Too much $$$$ out there being made by flippers and the gray market.

The problem isn't what ADs are selling, the problem is what Rolex is supplying ADs with to sell. We used to get 1 decent watch out of a batch of a dozen. So when you have all these dogs sitting in your showcase you dump it on the grey market.

The ADs are still getting plenty of hot watches. All of them.

Dogs sitting and being dumped? Have you seen the major gray dealers selling here? They are getting plenty and likely a vast percentage of the daytonas, gmt, subs etc. with the speculators these days there are very few “dogs”. That kind of rationing 3 Rolex per year would fix the problem. But I doubt Rolex can or has the legal authority to carry that out and so the fake hype train market will continue.

I know my AD won't sell you the same reference twice but are they really going to stop a customer from buying 3 diamond encrusted ladies DateJusts? I highly doubt that...

I was told the same but limited to 3 sports model p.a
in late 2019. But does it matters? I have got none of them over 2 yrs already. Haha.
But I bought DJ36 this year and another SA didn't mention this anymore.

Me, a wealthy man: “Hi I would like 1 brilliant dial two tone date just, 1 gold sky dweller, 1 day date and 1 yacht master in everose with diamants dial”

AD: “no can do, policy says I can’t make thousands of profit”

Nonsense. Only limit is how much you are willing to spend.

Lies bro. Clickbait nonsense. Common sense alone says this is just more trash “AD says” bs.
Also, wording matters. Rolex doesn’t give a crap, warrantee cards even went to just a date with no name. When people say “Rolex” says: that really means, YouTuber needs more views, “AD says” usually means that AD doesn’t want to sell you anything, bugger off.

Even more bs is the irony that you can’t buy more than three, bro, we can’t even buy one.

I had been told by my AD (UK) in March 2021 that I could only have 3 watches on order at any one time, you also can not have 2 or 3 stainless steal or 2 or 3 PM watches on order at the same time, the three watches had to be only 1 ss, 1 TT and 1 Pm.

I have a very good relationship with my AD.

The AD only suggested me to have 3 at a time to increase the chance to get it. She said it is not helpful if putting more, but she allows if I insist. Also any models. No restrictions.

Again matter what I put I don't think I can get any. Haha.

This may be dealer policy. It's not Rolex policy in the UK.

As with all these fake "Rolex policies", it's the AD telling you that you are not a preferential customer. They give the impression that it's not just you who they are treating like shit and everybody must now conform. You want to believe it, so you accept it.

I do not know if it is a Rolex policy. However my AD ask me every start of the year which Piece I would like to get and promise that he will deliver the year after.

Ding ding ding. I’ve often had the “only one sport model can be wishlisted” yet talking to the manager, I suddenly get more slots. Got a few models that way, so it’s truly depending of the client.

My AD told they won't give you 3 popular models in a single year. (i doubt it if it's vvip customer might be different)
Especially if you get one sport model then you won't get it again in 2-3 years.

Have a good relationship with my in AD in Essex and they are amazing with their transparency around their procedures.

A single client cannot be given more than 3 high demand pieces in a year, outside of this they can purchase as many other watches as they like (as far as im aware short wait list peices like YM40 OF, are not included, its only things like Ceramic Daytonas, GMT's, Subs etc. that everyone is after).

I can see this happening. Reminds me when I purchased a LV handbag for my wife a couple of years ago and was reminded of their terms and conditions (that were in writing) that I could only buy three special leather goods each year.

LV stores are not retailers independent of their supplier, unlike Rolex ADs.

A lot of Rolex’s ‘orders’ to ADs are just nonsense that SAs tell people out of ignorance or just an attempt to pass the nothing-for-you buck to Rolex.

Can’t blame them for doing so considering how triggered people can get if told the truth.

My local Australian AD mentioned the number of watches customers can express interest in at any one time has been lowered to one.

I think this is a great approach, and should help genuine buyers in securing a watch a lot quicker.
