First Rolex purchase then ask for waitlist - Acceptable?

I was waiting for about 4 months for the Submariner and they said it was about 10% progression.

I would ask, that being said I know the consensus here is to ask for one and only 1 particular model in order to not come across as a re-seller. My 2 cents, after a first purchase of a not so hot model ie Tt datejust, I would express my interest in 3-4 models that I would be happy to purchase if they became available. Just don’t ask for onlyl hype models. If you browse the website and find 2 or 3 configurations that aren’t the most desirable right now but you genuinely would like to have and throw the Blnr in there as well I think you stand a good chance of getting a call for 1 and or eventually all.

Is this the same place you are waiting for a sub? I think that makes a slight difference in HOW you ask but otherwise, yes, definitely fine to ask.

Doesn’t hurt to ask, but at least in my experience with multiple ADs there is no wait list. It really seems to be based on spend history when it comes to sports models and I don’t feel like buying a DJ makes the cut for a SS GMT

In OP’s neck of the woods I would say 50k minimum probably closer to 75k

Limited to my experience, but I think I had to cross the $30K spend threshold before I was offered a SS GMT. To be fair, this was over a year ago and the market has changed significantly in the past year. Best of luck OP.

Don’t want to spend that much - If I ask my AD SA to become the God Parent of my next child / Grand Child would this significantly improve my chances of securing a Daytona?

I actually didn’t do it when I went to pick up my bluesy. I thought I’d go back at a later date and ask for the next piece.

When you pick up your date just, say " I guess I've got to think about what my next one will be ha ha". And then return a week later with a small gift and thank him for the datejust, show him you've been wearing it everyday on your wrist and love it. And then at that time, ask for the batgirl.

After my first purchase at AD, the SA asked what is the next model you want ? I Replied skydweller and got one in a few months.
