I love my no date Sub. Much cleaner looking without the date cyclops.

From my point of view; what the sub date loses in aesthetics, it makes up for in functionality.

Both great watches.

I think it SUCKS.
Save up for a bluesy, TT sky dweller or TT datejust.

If I could have received my Sub without the date ... I would love it even more!

I do much prefer the ND version, however, Rolex does not offer the LV in ND. I asked my AD for either ND or LV. And they offered the LV, so that made my decision.

But in a perfect world, I do wish the LV was ND.

For modern ceramic Subs, I prefer the date version. The cases are so chunky that I feel like it should come with at least a date complication and cyclops.

Now the pre ceramics look better in the no date version. Those thinner cases are so elegant and wearable.

I have both varieties. The Submariner is nicely balanced without the date. It’s my preference.

I went ND but now I’d be just as cool with the Date. I do find myself using my phone and or PC taskbar for the date every now and then. But I do prefer the look of the ND. If it were my only watch I’d go Date.

I guess… can’t go wrong with either and in both markets the ND should save ya a grand or two and personally I would pay 0 extra for a green bezel

For a sub I prefer a date.
For a no date I prefer a BB58.

I’ll preface this with “as a recent retiree” I love my Exp1. The no date is great as a grab and go watch. If I didn’t already have a Sub date, I might’ve chose the no date option instead.

my first Sub was a 14060
I then got 5513 beautiful
then 116613 TT
today I appreciate the cyclope (126603 TT 166610 but also 16600)
there is no better and no worse ..... every Submariner / SD is the best

Love the submariner. But for me, the pre-ceramic models are the best. They’re the purest and I love the tool feel about them. The 116610 and 126610 (and no date versions) are just too clinical for me.

No date sub - what do you think?

What is funny is that I paid $550 LESS than the black bezel Sub date (now at $10,100) for my green bezel 126610LV when I purchased it on December 10, 2021 for $9,550. Thank you Rolex price increase!

I got one of the last NIB 14060M models in the United States in December 2011, before the 114060 was introduced at Basil 2012.

I like the new Subs, but the 14060M is my favorite of all the Subs.

Its simple though. A Submariner is the classic divers watch around. And when you dive you basically want to know one thing...and thats the time. A date is not relevant when you are diving, because you come out of the water the same day, so.

So the Submariner ND is the watch which earns the title as the divers watch. Thats why its called Submariner.

Agreed. There's only one Submariner. An icon. You can also get a version with a date complication, but it's not the original. I prefer the Sub date. Each to our own.

Can't go wrong with either one!

But I split the difference and went with the 116600 SD4K

:-)

I prefer the Sub to the Sub Date. I would go for a Sea-Dweller without a cyclops if I wanted a Rolex diver with a date complication.

Same for me.

My first Rolex was a Sub (ND) and I went with it over the date version for its symmetry. Despite the date on my SD4K, I find that the bezel gives it even more symmetry and I also prefer the slimmer lugs.

Original submariner (nd) is the purists choice.

People go on about having a date, but I look at the date once in the morning and remember it all day (and honestly, I don’t have the best memory)

You can’t go wrong with either watch, but definitely don’t dismiss the classic sub.

Although I appreciate the date, i agree !!

THE sub is the 5513, 14060, 114060, 124060 !
The others are the sub date.
