I love the design of many of the models, but I was in contact with a salesperson from "Watches of Switzerland," who told me his stores no longer carry them because they are not reliable and break frequently. Too bad or else I would have purchased one.

With Oris' price range, I'm sure they attract customers who are still pretty new to mechanical movements who may or may not know how to handle them properly. Unlike with more expensive watches, users are either well versed or very careful with their watches. Just a theory, of course.

Oris makes a great watch, very under rated.

I have a TT1 diver that I love, runs within COSC spec and has been in the ocean, pool and work with no problems at all.

Oris is great, but again, for the long haul your much better off getting an Omega or Rolex

Hi,

I suggest SINN. German brand with swiss movements. Great watches - sensible prices. Take a look at their homepage (www.sinn.de).

It Don't matter what you go with as long as you like the watch. Oris Nice Omega Nice <> Breitling Nice <> Panerai Nice..... Once the bug gets you they all come your way !!! Enjoy I have. LJ

My BIL has 2 Oris diver watches, both are under a year old (new style bezel)
He is VERY gentle and anal about taking care of his watches but both of these bezels have somehow gotten a chip (makes no sense its the same chip, same place on both of them and nothing on any of his other watches he has owned and worn much longer). He sent one in to Oris 9 weeks ago and just finally got a letter they have his watch and will send him an estimate soon. He has had no luck with anyone on the phone.
That is all I know about them. The watches look nice, many people seem happy but I think customer service may be hit or miss. Hopefully your watch will never have any problems so you will never need customer service.

I own a tt1 diver for the past several years and has been a good daily wear. Look up Friends of Oris in a gogle search, they are top notch and have very very good prices and service.

Go Omega... find a pristine used Seamaster Professional model 2254.50 (now sadly discontinued). Cheers, Bill P.
