Great story and beautiful watch. Rolex seems to have an extra emphasis this year on trying their hardest not to sell to flippers while meeting demand from first time buyers. Glad it worked out well for you!

Cool story. Enjoy your first and probably not your last Rolex. Stick with that SA.

Awesome story. Congratulations.

I also got an SD43 this year on a very quick turnaround.

Everyone is all over the Submariner, but the SD43 fits me better an I love it.

However at 3K more than the sub I can understand why it is not as fast of a seller.

Regardless, enjoy yours like I enjoy mine. Well done.

It's because the size , not the price.

Agreed.

I think it’s an awesome watch and really wish I could pull it off, but looks way too big on my 6.75 flat wrist.

I had chance to try it several years ago, when I looked at it on my wrist just had my memory back to those toy watches when I was kid.
I don't have oversize G-shock on my wrist but just no DS, lol
For those who have big wrist DS is perfect!

Well done.

I know that AD and I am very surprised they offered anything to a new customer

Congrats to the OP for the uplifting story -- it definitely gives a glimmer of hope to those who don't necesarily have a deep-rooted relationship with an AD.

Why is this surprising? Every single existing Rolex customer was a new customer at one point.

Lol, really? They didn’t all become new customers in this current market.

lol, really? But every single existing customer didn’t make their first Rolex purchase in this climate where it is hard to randomly walk-in and buy a sports model Rolex. You know that, right?

Same that one gets HAMMERED with tourists. That mall has an absurd amount of traffic, which makes this situation even more unlikely! But I got a no date sub and turqoise op41 both within a 12 month period with no prior relationship with my AD so miracles do happen!

Congrats OP, watches are that much more special when they have a crazy story like this

Big congrats, the SD43 is one hell of a stainless tool watch, and one of my favorites. Talk about luck and timing…
