Neither - Diamond markers look best and less cluttered :)
If I had to choose then batons for the reasons above and whilst I love Roman numerals think they look better on a Cartier…

I prefer the sticks. For the amount of money for these things I want mine to have lume ability at night.

Roman adds more complexity to the watch. As you can tell I love it.

Still a favorite and probably my most versatile watch. I like Romans on my wife’s white dial dj.

I would normally say sticks but Rolex hour markers on this and OP are just so damn basic. Romans on DD40 are tops followed by Romans on DJ IMO.

This is exactly my DJ, Romans on a silver dial, smooth bezel, on an Oyster. The WG Romans are subtle, and catch the light well, along with the silver dial. It’s an interesting juxtaposition, because the Oyster/smooth bezel makes it more sporty, but Roman numerals are of course the very opposite of modern. It’s definitely not for everyone, but I find the monochromatic look blends in well with whatever I’m wearing.

Stick dial only. I think the romans are terrible looking and is a complete non starter for me.

I like the Roman numerals on vintage Rolex DJs.

Here’s my Cream dial from 1989 : )

I have the DJ41 with white Roman dial fluted bezel, oyster bracelet. It is gorgeous; dial is as clean and crisp as they come, imho.

Sticks are the classic Datejust look. When I think of Datejust, that's what comes to mind

Mine, just because...

That's a beauty. Wish my 41 white dial would age to this colour one day

IMHO Roman numerals make the dial too busy - I prefer a more streamlined look.

Batons for me every time. I'm not a fan of romans at all - I think they are overly dressy and a little too errrr... "mature" for my taste.

Had these two options, and took the sticks! I prefer the blue of the stick dial, but if the Roman’s had fluted it may have been a harder choice!
