1803 non-quickset. New dial won't fit!!!

Stellas are not exactly glossy, but semi-glossy. Excessive gloss or a layer of glossy clear over the background should cause caution. Just look at the pic I inserted to evaluate. I have two more 1803 Stellas in my bank besides the one I sold.

I have seen those indexes both on DD 180x and on 160x. They were quite common at the time.

I agree there is no “clear coat” on Stella dials, and the degree of gloss is sometimes inconsistent among dials.
I also agree that the Wide Boy indexes/markers were not uncommon. However, I don’t recall ever seeing a Stella dial with those markers, only diamonds or the narrower, standard batons.

watch.hunter66, what do you think of CTech’s analysis above, that the brazing marks on the back do not match the WB markers? Do you believe the OP’s dial is a correct Stella dial?

As I said, it's difficult to judge without evaluating the dial directly, in real life. My doubt is that it is a dial for a DD 6611. Whether I am unable to judge if it's a service dial later ordered to freshen up an old watch...

Before this thread I was thinking early gen 1 & 2 DD dials would fit the 1803.
It would be interesting to see if it does fit the 6611 as you mention.
