Typically I respond with if Mille is spelled with two or three l's, that tends to ward off those with misplaced intentions.

Just wondering if it is at all unadvised to wear an Offshore to the sauna due to heat/gaskets etc? I've been contemplating it for a few days but end up putting it in the locker each time.

The number of people I see gawking at my AP is pretty incredible.

Noone ever noticed my APs outside of a couple of collector friends.

However, everybody seems to notice my Octo Finissimo Sejima. Must be the full polish but i get a lot of compliments on it from non enthusiasts and also a lot of questions.

No it’s absolutely fine. I’ve worn mine many many times and it’s never been an issue.

I always used to leave my Offshore in the locker but on one occasion as I opened the locker door it fell out onto the floor, fortunately it wasn’t damaged. Since then I’ve always kept my watch on my wrist and I’ve been doing it for a few years and have probably experienced just about the best reliability of anyone on this forum as I’ve never had an issue with any of my APs.

I wouldn't wear my watch to the gym period. How could you work out with an offshore on? That's not even comfortable forget about practical.

scratching my watch is the last thing i want to be thinking about when i'm doing a 200lb barbell squat.

not quite as worrisome as thinking about what's going with my watch in the locker room... i only wear an apple watch when i workout.

and about the thread's main topic, my wife gets more compliments about her watches than I do of mine. guys are impressed that a girl is into watches and has some special pieces. I don't get much comments about my RO, but my aquanaut has gotten many comments amongst my richer friends. normal people don't have a clue what it is.

Haha, this 100%.

I’ve gotten some comments on my Taupe ROO, mostly from people who know absolutely nothing about watches.

Surprisingly more than expected. I've had a few people go "Is that an AP?" and then last night at dinner i had a whole table of guys turn around and look at my watch. it was so obvious, they had to tell me they were looking at my watch

TBH my offshore doesn’t get in the way when I’m doing treadmill or even deadlift/shoulders/bench press, golf on the other hand I have to take my watch off as it’s way too uncomfortable.

Sad to say I keep my APs deliberately under sleeves when out in london, I’m conscious not to attract the wrong attention. Always receive comments when watch/jewellery shopping and often at the airport! And then there are those times when people say they like my “hublot” 😂
