Well, the one thing that I don't ever take my watch on is an Airborne operation, ie. jumping out of planes. Oh one more, cleaning the house w/ bleach like chemicals.

When working on the car, in the garage or anywhere where the watch could get scratched against metal, concrete, etc.

I have done everything that should not be done with mine. I do feel a bit guilty. I have worn my Sub day in day out for 8 years. My business is structural swimming pool repairs and hobbies are modified cars.

I don´t think I decided to wear the watch full time consciously but then when clients noticed it I realised that in work, talking to millionaires, the watch gives credibility, people notice.

I didnt realise how badly I had abused the watch until I needed a new clasp last year. The hinge had worn through. The links on the bracelet are worn with the constant abrasive reaction of dust in the air, the bezel is marked with welding spatter and gel coat resin, but until now the crystal is unmarked.

The watch loses around 3 mins a week, despite using a jack hammer on a regular basis.

At first I thought what the hell, its a tough watch, its what its made for, but now I need to give it some love. I am going to polish the case, replace the bracelet and get a new bezel insert (what do i stick it in with??).

I have another sub (bought from my dad and in worse condition than mine!!) and a datejust with an acrylic glass. I am going to buy something to use for work, I want something nice.. but good value, any sugestions?

I would not wear one while commercial diving and then later I worked on Nuclear Submarines and at Nuclear Power plants and definitely would not wear one in the the reactor compartment or the containment building. After that I used to service CNC milling machines and that was extremely messy and I would only wear a G-shock doing that.
