I just bought an OEM blue rubber strap for my blue 300m, but I guess I’m in the minority because I really love the bracelet. No pic because I didn’t put it on yet.

I owned the silver dial blue bezel version for a year or so and wore almost only on bracelet. Currently have the sedna gold black dial two tone that have only worn on the oem rubber. Picked up a green one yesterday that i threw on a $25 barton strap and love how it looks on that. So i can check off 3 of those options and guess the dial/bezel determine my preference.

I already have the grey dial that I got on the bracelet but added the rubber strap with the tang buckle. The majority of the year I wear it on that and also switch it up with some of the Omega Natos that I got as well. I picked up 4 different variants of their navy blue straps, most of them with some sort of grey accent on them.

I picked up the green Seamaster in January on the green rubber strap with the deployant clasp. That combo is extremely comfortable and very easy to take on and off. I’m not sure the deployant is worth the premium over the tang but it is very convenient. I put the bracelet from my grey dial on the green dial since I think that’s a better looking combo than the rubber strap.

Another vote for “it depends”.

Some dials look fantastic on the rubber strap, such as the white dial (as seen mine below with a black Meraud Tropic strap).

Others need a darker dial to give enough contrast for the pop of the bracelet. Black and green look amazing on the metal.

In terms of comfort, I would say rubber strap but I’m in the unenviable camp of being exactly in-between strap holes so it’s too tight or too loose. Bracelet has thus given me the best fit.

Omega rubber straps are the best ones out there. They are incredibly comfortable and look terrific. I never considered the bracelet for my 300 SMP. I'm still not a fan of their SMP bracelets. Wish they would overhaul them like they did with the moonwatch.

As someone in the market for one - I’m thinking the rubber strap and an aftermarket Forstner / equivalent bracelet.

The 300's bracelet is among the worst in class imo. It looks dated and the lack of a tapper results in a really fat clasp. It kills the watch. On the other hand, the rubber strap for it is one of the better ones in its class imo. I is nice and comfortable and looks great.

So for me, the 300 is awesome on a strap, but unpurchasable on a bracelet. I keep hoping they'll fix the bracelet, but they never do.

I should add, the bracelets on the heritage models (both Seamaster and Speedy) are great!

Always on the strap, so comfortable and a proper taper. Shame that on such a great watch, especially for the money, Rolex continues to eat their lunch when it comes to bracelets.

I have the blue dial and prefer the bracelet. I like it. It fits perfectly. I have no complaints. Also, I don’t like the blue rubber strap.

However, I think I’d prefer the rubber strap with the white or black dial variants.

Anything I should know before attempting to remove the bracelet and put the strap on? I don’t want to mess it up. Thanks
Edit. I looked up how to do this and ordered a spring bar plier tool.

Factory rubber on the white wave. The tank tread bracelet design doesn’t do it for me. Spoiled by the more substantial Rolex Oyster bracelets.

You’re right. I really don’t get the Bond bracelet taper. The speedy is it much better. The mesh is on point, though.

Enjoying my 300M on bracelet, but would love to add the OEM rubber strap with deployant. I just hate paying $500+ extra for it. :(

I also ( in the minority) love the bracelet. I did get a blue Omega strap on EBay for $ 319. It was worth it I think. It changes the look a lot. Certainly makes the watch look more casual, though less eye catching. Good for kicking around during the day. I especially wanted it for a trip to Aruba. I would rather the bracelet for evening though. I recently got a Casio tide watch ( GBX100-7) with a white band. Cool look. I think my blue 300m might look good with a white strap. A summer look. RubberB makes one for $240.

When people say the OEM strap, does Omega give you a color choice for that? I'm wanting to buy the black bezel/white dial, I only see it with the black strap option on Omega's site. If they have one, white rubber is what I want.

Buy on bracelet. Add additional straps, bands, or appendages as necessary. This is true for almost all watches IMO

It seems I’m on of the few that like the OEM bracelet. I don’t mind the lack of taper. That said, I also really love the OEM rubber strap. Insofar that I have a Pepsi on jubilee and a Speedy on a bracelet, I think I prefer the Diver 300 on the rubber strap. But can’t go wrong either way.

I have a blue SMP that started on the bracelet. I never loved it, and went through a quite few different straps and bracelets before finally buying the OEM rubber strap with deployment clasp.

The OEM rubber strap really is amazing, both in look and feel. I should have bought the watch in this configuration, would have saved myself a few bucks. But the SMP is a surprising strap monster IMO.

Me too. I like it a lot and one of the reasons I like it so much is because it’s so different than the others bracelets I have.
