I've seen that episode, although for the life of me I can't remember the details.

Anyway, I wouldn't push it, and there's no complicated reason for not doing so. There's just too much randomness built into it, and I'm a control freak.

EDIT: Mah momma also taught me never to enter a contract without reading the fahne print!

There's only two people I would consider pushing the button for so the answer in most likelyhood is no.

This is all in fun, just to see you reaction.

This might be how you get the $$$ for my other post

A stranger shows up at your door, presents you with a wooden box with one button on it. Nothing inside, no wires, no connections, completely empty except this button.

He says,' If you push the button, I will return & give you $1,000,000, BUT someone you do not know will die"

What do you do?
Tough one, not sure I could push it.

No way would I push it. A buddy of mine in college ran this by me, and I said the same thing then.

Sappy, perhaps, but it reminds me of the story of the guy throwing starfish back into the sea. Another guy says "why are you doing that? see how many there are? how can it make any difference?"

The guy tosses another starfish back into the sea, and says, "it made a difference to that one."

I'm pretty sure this is what JJ actually means when he refers to one as a "TOSSER!"

Anyway, as most people are neither all good nor all bad, I'd be pretty sure I'd done my "tossing" that day by not pressing the button.

In the show, they finally push the button.
The fellow show up, gives them the cash & asks for the box back.
They ask " what are you going to do with that box?'
He calmly says " Don't worry, I will give it to someone YOU DO NOT KNOW" & leaves

Hmm tough one.
But, as awful as may I appear, my first thought was 'push it!...push it!'.

Of course, what you do in reality could possibly be totally different from what you say you'll do.

I'd drop it such that the button is forced into the mechanism.

That way I get the money and I didn't 'push' the button, per se. LOL

BTW, could I ask that the person who dies be one of my in-laws? LOLOLOL

Trust me... if you knew of my in-laws, you'd really understand why I'd want to push the button for both of them, completely without remorse.
