As long as you buy new from an AD, you should be ok.
Just don’t buy grey |

If you’re solely interested in purchasing to invest, your questions will be better answered on an investment forum, Reddit thread, etc. If you actually want to buy a watch to wear and enjoy, and are just curious which models might retain the most value over time, then you’ll want to rephrase your question accordingly. In either case I hope you find the answers you seek. |

Watches are great investments. I’ve said this before. I’ll say it again!

I have Rolex, Omega, Seiko, Tag.....I bought all of them at various times in my life because I like watches and like wearing them.
I don't really care about the investment side of things, and in fact never thought or considered it in any of my purchases. I just like watches and want to wear the ones that I like, I wouldn't buy one that was "okay" because it is a better investment... |

A lot of sad ( snarky) replies to a first poster who could not know how so many forum members feel. Inform and educate. I never had a clue until I spent more time here. Although he was warned in post #2.

You know how the internet is, people love to lord their so called wisdom over the new guy in the room, like forum experience is some sort of actual commodity lol. Way it goes.

Illiquid, 20%+ bid-ask spread and 2%+ annual carrying costs. Sounds like a winner.

Exactly. Been investing in watches since the early 1990s, and their return financially is second only to soy beans and pork bellies, and their return emotionally is second only to my yacht. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Please look elsewhere for an investment, there aren't enough watches for the rest of us already.

Within your budget, I would suggest the white dial Daytona from an AD.

Watch is not totally an investment, buy what you wear and what you will be happy with anytime you see it. A white dial Daytona from an AD will be fine as suggested based on your Budget...Good luck in your search.

It’s time to buy a ChatGPT plug-in, forget the Rolex.

He should have tried the search function first. He easily could have found his answer. A lot of snarky comments because this kind of mentality is what has ruined the hobby for many of us.

It was more of a challenge to the OP to contribute something. These kind of just-joined first post topics are usually bs. Actually some dealers now are essentially giving people shopping lists, like your mum sending you to the shop; not so much plugging what they have but saying what they want. |

Welcome. Nothing typically gets cheaper with time and Rolex has not. Take a pick of what you like. Get your best price and enjoy it and wear it for years and it will be worth more than you paid.
