I had Both, I find the white dial easier to read for my tired eyes.

Thank you all for your input. Came across two for sale with complete set. Both comes with the older shorter bracelet clasp, making the watches are pre 2008. One of them is NOS with stickers and the other is pre-owned but in excellent condition. Cash price difference is 2k. NOS will be 2k more. I’m planning to buy and wear the watch and not a safe queen.

I’m leaning towards getting cheaper one as I might be reluctant to de-sticker the NOS and wear it. What would you do.

Is the non NOS watch unpolished? If yes I would go for this one. Otherwise I would pay 2k more for a NOS watch

I have both black and white 116520’s and 116500’s. My preference is the black dial on the 116520 and white dial on the 116500.

I would go unpolished on whichever you choose. Once the bezel is polished on these 16520 & 116520 models it never looks the same.

I own the black version and it’s one of the anchors in my small collection. It was a struggle choosing dial colors at the time. If money is no object, add the white version to your collection.

Never get rid off, always add Daytonas. I’d own a version of every Daytona ever made if I could!

Platinum is my favorite and that will never happen. I would be happy with a black or white if offered. If I had a choice I would pick the new model white. I like the black surrounding the sub dials.

It’s all about what you can easily afford. Options are nice. Don’t break yourself over a hobby -family and savings/security first. But if that’s generally in order- and the 20k isn’t that big of a deal- then buy it. You’ll love having options!

I've tried both, like the black better. Have to agree with Aaron (Swish77) that white 116520 is the least attractive of all six SS Daytona's since 1988. If you are going to spend significant money on a white dial Daytona, I'd either get 16520 or 116500.

For me they’re both so different that it makes sense to have both. On the other hand, I’ve never sold the watch and don’t plan on selling any of my watches so I just add to what I have. I can’t decide which one I like better.

I had a 116520 white dial. To be honest, I think it is an awesome watch. I do miss it a bit and plan to add back to my collection at some point.

Compared to 116500 white (which I only recently got), it is a very different watch. For me both are awesome and different enough to have both in collection. The thing I like the most about 116520 is that it looks completely different in different lights. From full bling to very toolish in high and low lights.

Wearing white after Labor Day is a fashion faux pas so it’s best to diversify and have both (despite being scratch and dent magnets)

Both. Falls under the 'only add' mantra. Especially if you and your wife both enjoy mechanical timepieces. :)

Much prefer the. More distinctive, easier to read, variation from Subs/GMT and has a fresh look.

Just took my 10 yr old 116520 with black dial to get serviced and RSC said they could swap to a white dial. I find the black dial it’s really hard to tell time at a glance unlike the black one. Let’s see how it turns out!

I have several Daytona’s, including ceramic both white and black. Both are very differently admired, enough to justify owning both. Different look.

Black dial Rolex 116520 was the one I'd wanted for years....TRF made it happen.

I own both in 116520 and 116500. I wear the black 116500 the most. My AD talked me into buying that watch in 2016. Good thing he did as it is my favorite watch.
