My wrist is 6.5 and that watch looked and felt huge on me. I traded it.

This.

Even a 5 digit is a large watch on a 6’’ wrist.

OP, if you’re stuck on Rolex, get an Explorer 36mm. If you’re stuck on the diver aspect, get a Tudor 54.

I have a 7”ish wrist and would not buy a sub if my wrist was much smaller.

Pass… the clasp on that bracelet is huge! It will definitely take up all the backside of your wrist

Thanks for sharing. I did remeasure by using clothing ruler and my wrist is 6 3/8 so bigger than I thought. Found the watch I want, just got to get to the AD to try the new one one or go with the 116613.

Hi, I do not have a DJ, I tried at my AD few months ago.
It was a DJ41, white dial, fluted bezel.
Maybe it is the white dial compared to the black,
maybe it is the fact that the dial of the Sub is smaller that of the DJ41, but on my wrist that DJ41 looked bigger than the Sub.

I have 6.35" wrist, and wear dj36, sub 124060, and a dd40.
I have learnt to stopping asking aesthetics related questions here, and I found my life has been much happier ever since.

OK I think this may be a first for me, I always say who cares what I (or others think) we aren't paying for it or wearing it.
My wrists are just about 7 in and I wear up to 44 mm quite often.
Of course it depends if you have flat or round wrists
BUT
Honestly I hate to say it but I think its too big for your wrist.
BUT
As I said you are wearing it and buying it. You need to ask yourself what you think and if it works for you, ROCK that Sub!!!

I have a slightly larger wrist…just under 6.5 I think and the new 41 subs fit perfectly.

Although a very close photo of your DJ ll on your wrist, it looks too large for you IMO. With that being said, the Sub will look too big as well.
Have you considered a 36mm? I have a 7-1/2" round wrist and wear both, the Sub 41 and DJ 36. Either feel too big or too small for my wrist, at all.

I saw throw convention out the window and just go for the DSSD! If you are going to rock a large watch, it might as well be the Mac Daddy of the bunch!

Just kidding. You will definitely want to go in person and look at exhibition pieces. Everyone is different.

Went to a AD dealer this week. I love the Bluesy! Is it a tad big, yes but I love it! I wore a Bentley Motors 44 many years ago, so this is a lot smaller.

I agree with your assessment. I love the 41 especially since it isn't truly 41mm.

If you’re comfortable wearing it then go for it. That said, it does looks way too large for you if I’m being honest. I think it would get cumbersome to wear since they are pretty top heavy.

Your wrist size would be a good fit for a 5 digit Sub…you indicated in post #25 that a friends ‘93 Sub fit great…that might be your best bet!

I have a 7” wrist and the 5 digit Sub fits me the best, along with a BB58.

Let us know what you decide to do!

I visited AD today and did a sub comparison. I have a 6.5” wrist. To me the 12 series was too large and the 16610 was perfection. The 16610 fit me just right and was super comfortable while the 12 series felt like a much larger and heftier watch.

You will have to figure out what works for you so I would suggest doing the sub comparison I did and then make your decision. Good luck!

Just a personal thing- I mean visually it’s clearly way too big but if comfort is there and you like the oversized look- golden

I dislike the 36mm as I think it looks too small. I like a bigger size watch, but I think my DJII 41mm looks great and I'm always getting compliments on it.

IMHO the DJII being 41mm wears bigger than my 40 mm sub or gmt.Good luck with your purchase. Let us know what you decide.

Sorry mate, looks too big. You’d be better off with a 37 mm yachtmaster…or a 5 digit…or a Tudor 54/58.

But lots of ppl wear stuff that doesn’t fit them. So do you.

Just curious, is this normal for a Rolex? Wouldn't the watch and clasp both be best centered with as even a number of links as possible on each side? Obviously in this case you have an odd number of links but I guess I would anticipate 5 links on the 12:00 side of the dial and 4 links on the 6:00 side would be most centered/standard arrangement...?

In my opinion, you should go with a 5-digit Submariner.

The 124060 is a much larger, heavier watch. It won't look as good on your wrist as your friend's Submariner does, and more importantly, it won't be as comfortable.

Choosing the older reference is in no way a "compromise". Many people actually consider the 5-digit models to be the pinnacle of the Submariner-line.
