Just got back and Bucherer IS an amazing store. Lots of SAs but hardly any customers around 7:30 pm on a Friday night. A very nice Chinese lady showed me some pieces from other brands but when we got to Rolex made a big point of saying "not for sale" every time I asked to see one despite me saying I understood. Did handle the new TT Jubilee GMT which is just as lovely in person. Preowned prices for all brands I was familiar with were outrageous.

As for the Moonswatch, the Swatch store in Fashion Show had 8 of the 11 variants, lacking only Missions to Neptune, Uranus, and Moon. I picked up Mission to Pluto for myself and my Mrs. picked out Mission to Saturn. Nice to buy a couple watches and walk out for under $600, and the female SA there was very nice and extremely competent. Will be picking up silicone Barton straps for these when I get round to it. The Swatch provided strap is velcro.

Nice. Cool that you snagged your Moonswathes for MSRP. I paid a bit more for my “Mission to the Moon”, on eBay. It’s def legit, though. It even had the Swatch store receipt.

Amazing store. Was there last month and picked up my pelagos 39 (was not on display).

Interesting about the Swatch store. I dropped in there last October and they had no Moonswatches, in fact I have yet to ever see one in any store. I really wanted one when they first came out but am pretty much over having to search out a $260 watch.

They were under lock and key and she showed them to us on an IPAD and we narrowed it down and then she got them out for comparison but we weren't allowed to pull them out of the packaging. She said they were getting regular deliveries, sometimes daily.

As for the watch itself, it's cool, and certainly looks like a Speedmaster and the concept is killer, but it looks and feels every bit it's $260 price point. As someone who is used to Rolex, none of the hands on the Moonswatch line up precisely and it's extremely light weight. I have my doubts as to how well it would hold up to being knocked around in daily wear by a careless owner. It comes off as very disposable, which I suppose is true of any Swatch. That being said, the original Swatch was an engineering marvel. This watch is less so.

I had good luck at the Wynn boutique back in May or June. You just never know.
