Thanks! No, it is artificial, but an older artificial from the 70s that used to be her mother's. For some reason they looked more realistic back then.

No tree this year due to the new pup. He likes to pull branches off bushes outside.

"The Tree" - like it's owners - is now a bit of a relic, having done every Christmas since about 1996. Likewise the "Family Angel" who is looking a bit worse for wear - again just like the owners.
Santa, offers a welcome in the entrance-way - poor bastard, he has been in a box in the cupboard since last January. Probably traumatised!

That tree goes okay, has history however poor Santa just looks pleased that you remembered him....he knows there will be a day when he wont be wheeled out.

Ours went up the first weekend of November. I love the look of Christmas lights, so the compromise last year and this year was to put up the tree earlier inside, but to completely skip the outside decorating.

Everywhere we travel and every significant (or even insignificant) life event we experience results in a new Christmas ornament, so, when we put up our tree, it's a walk through our history together.

Yeah we do that too, have decorations for pets who passed on amongst other things, great time and place to reflect on many things.

Digressing somewhat, and I hope you don’t mind me commenting, but that view is absolutely stunning. I’m guessing there is no need for paintings in that room

Still needs a topper! We both have an Angel. Can’t find either. Mine was my previous husband’s, so perhaps inappropriate, anyway? Looks like it’s Amazon time…..

My 91 years young Mom has her tree and decorations up by Thanksgiving every year. Most all of the ornaments on the tree have a special memory of something,
loved ones, place, time, etc…. A few are over 75 years old.
