Yes- I didn't get the model, but the manager-type I dealt with was wearing one. I was distracted because she was kind of hot.

In my opinion you can't beat the RWSC! Congrats.
Enjoy your new watch when you get it back.
GT

They are not as picky with used inserts being out there, just clasp and other parts they never return.

NO! Run back there today, and DEMAND they put the request on the receipt.

looks like you had a good experience there. i've been there 3 or 4 times, and each time was a professional experience, just their proposals are expensive.
and i don't mind if they send my watch to Texas or Pa.....as long as a qualified tech works on it. *

* we have learned from other members that in Lititz, Pa. they do NOT have students working on rolex watches in for service/repair. only qualified people do work. the repair center is at the same location as the school but apparently they are separate facilities. Many TRF members have complained(including me) that the only thing Rolex USA does wrong is to NOT DISCLOSE to customers that the watches may travel to a distant site for service/repair.

I asked if my watch was going to be sent to the PA facility, and was told no, the work was going to be done there at the NYC location. I don't know if others' watches have been sent elsewhere. Mine was a good experience, overall, and I'm happy to have the old insert and green watch pouch. Just noticed I referred to the new insert as the new bezel in the post above- silly newby me. I think I might have the old insert reinstalled and save the pristine insert for another time- like the watch's next servicing.

4 weeks turnaround seems pretty fast.

Apparently for UK Bexley it's 12 weeks for a routine service, according to an AD that I asked recently.

The turnaround was 19 days, actually. They quoted four weeks, but got it done much sooner. I'm challenged understanding taking 3 months for a "routine" service.

Damn good.

Whereas 3 months seems a tad too long to wait to get one's watch back.. But yup that was what I was told.

Crappy Pics

Well, I don't know my way around a camera, that's obvious. The one pic shows the old bezel, cleaning cloth, and carry pouch that Rolex gave me, as well as the paperwork and warranty. The pictures don't really show that I have what looks like a brand new watch.

Wonder why no photos allowed inside?

Thanks for the info Rich...

Did they explain why they do not allow photos inside or was it just posted?

I encountered this curious policy twice recently:
  • While browsing Harrods fine watch department in London. There was a really cool tall cabinet watch winder that also had a cigar humidor and liquor cabinet built into it(!). When I tried to take a picture of it I was approached by a plain clothes security man who told me no photos were allowed in the fine watch section of the store.
  • When I went to the Breguet exhibit at the Louvre (ended in SEP) I was told no photos were allowed of the Breguet exhibit (only place in the Louvre where that was the case).

I can only imagine they are trying to thwart would be thieves from photographing the merchandise and exact layouts of personnel, exit/entry, security measures, etc....After the Harry Winston heist in Paris a few months ago, I suppose it is not unwarranted...

But it sure does make it hard for a WIS to get his fix!

Thanks for the info and pics...cool watch!

Paul- I didn't ask about the no pictures policy. As you surmised, I'm sure it's for security.

Thanks for posting about this. I am planning on taking my 16750 GMT in next week to the NY RSC, and also want to keep my original bezel insert. If they don't let me keep it, I suppose I can come back without it, but what would be the point of them arguing? Either way, they're not keeping it.

I guess I can expect my service to cost about the same as yours since my watch probably needs the same treatment.
