Anyone else experienced similar?
YOu didn't notice it when you purchased the watch? Or did this happen afterwards?

Took in to Rolex today.

They said that Daytonas can sometimes be noisy. But admitted mine was a little noisier than they would expect.
They didn’t seem overly concerned at first, but when I mentioned that the dealer when I returned it to them, tried to remedy it with a “thicker oil’ Rolex said that alone raises “alarm bells” as there is no such thing as a “thicker oil” and Rolex only use one oil. They said a pin heads worth of oil would last 10 years in that watch.

So on that basis they have recommended that I get it serviced to get it opened up and inspected.

It wasn’t doing it when I first got the watch or I missed it. But it’s so noticeable now, I don’t think it’s possible that I missed it. Like I said it happens on a wrist turn to look at the time. It’s actually more of a wobble than a rattle as it feels like something is wobbling inside that takes a moment to settle afterwards

I have returned the watch once , they said opened it up and put a “thicker oil” inside and sent me a video of it totally silent upon shaking it.

But by the time I received it two days later, it was rattling again.

thanks for the explanation, I agree the thicker oil statement raises a few red flags, its not a car engine where you pour oil in. Parts have to be disassembled cleaned and then lubricated. I agree with another poster of having RSC inspect the watch... Good luck

“Thicker oil”…..? Run not walk away from any dealer that would even mention that idea.

Some say there are heartless grey dealers who'll drain the oil-sump of a Rolex, re-fill it with thick oil, and sell it to the unsuspecting public while at the same time putting that sweet, original Rolex oil on eBay for a tasty profit.

Just noticed when I shake my wrist with the 116519 that is about 20 years old it does make a bit of noise that could be described as a rattle. Runs great, keeps excellent time.
