I remember when a Rolex owner had enough income and life$tyle didn’t need to care about what their Rolex was worth or cost to buy.

It’s only down if you sell it. Same with stocks. You only have a loss or gain when you sell.

That said, every Rolex that I own is worth more than the MSRP that I paid. I never sold one and have no plans to do so. I enjoy wearing them too much and it’s one thing that I can leave to the kids, and their kids and so forth. They can do what they want with them. That’s the only thought that I give to their monetary value.

So actually the market is DOWN compared to the 2024 point you highlighted

So as the title indicates atop the graph, this is an index from WatchCharts.

That's why there's no unit on the right y axis. It's not in dollars.

ChronoPulse has a similar index, which shows the same thing — market is up compared to the pre-pandemic.

Exactly, now that more people are aware of horology, or at least think about getting 'a watch'....

Wish we could do that for high-performance audio / immersive sound. That $200 soundbar sure ain't cutting it.

No comment other than it’s amusing to see complaints about a topic or thread.

If some had it their way the forum would exclude:
* Topics that discuss timekeeping / accuracy
* Topics that mention models by anything other than their reference number
* Topics that discuss obtaining models / hard to procure models
* Topics that touch anything related to value or pricing
* Topics that describe technological advancement (eg magnetic resistance improvement)

The list is longer but this is a pretty representative sample. So the forum should be what? Popularity polls?

I was lucky selling an amp for 1/2 msrp brand new in box. The difference in price was a very nice Rolex. They don’t present as well on Instagram and can’t be shown in front of rented cars/homes for photoshoots… hard to lug around a couple hundred pounds.

True that, hard to brag about something on-the-street to show off... while at home that you enjoy it immensely.

My two cents. Rolex has established that it’s brand new watches must be removed all the plastics seal in place, they automatically become watches used, like new. Large production numbers, standardization of production, their value can only continue to fall. There is a lot of offer, see for example the Daytona gold and Green, I have two for sale, a colleague of mine has three, and every multi-brand dealer has one, and prices continue to fall. However, I discover that they offered me a realy brand new, realy full plastics and tags of 2023 for 100,000.00 euros, rare unicorn last production, probably a piece unique in this conditions, and then I understood all the suicidal marketing that they have diabolically studied.

It's like anything else. Depends on your price point of entry.

People on the forum generally set time 0 to be the peak of prices in spring 2021 where the blow off top occurred between November and February 2021.

I have also pointed out that if you go back less than 18 months before that we are still way up ($19-21k Daytona vs $28-34k now).

Got mine June 26 for the same price. Since expressing interest in this watch a few years ago, I’ve noticed the usual almost regular Rolex price increases.
