Definitely a new spin on travel and airport shopping. I've always figure airport Rolex stores were simply displays... Looks good on you.

Nice find. I got my exp II, two years ago at Schiphol airport this way. During the crazy post covid times so felt extra lucky.

You sure can and this time you sure were. Congratulations. Makes an airport almost tolerable.

Cool find, good for you.

I’m in Europe quite often, went into the Rolex store in Heathrow last week, just wondering what other big European airports have Rolex shops, or do most of the majors ones have a Rolex shop.

I was there a couple of weeks ago and amazed they actually had watches for sale - one being a black dial 36mm OP. I thought about snagging it but I don't need another black dial watch.

Most major airports around the world have Rolex stores, typically managed by the local area AD. It would be interesting to hear from other forum members about their experience at different airport locations. I happen to fly regularly through Amsterdam Schiphol and found that particular location to be quite friendly and open to offering watches for sale (when they have them available) without consideration for whether you are known to them or have a prior purchase history with the local AD locations outside the airport, etc.

At other locations the story differs, for example another airport I travel through regularly is Rome Fiumicino and there I have never seen any desirable watches exhibited, let alone available for purchase. The atmosphere is also rather cold and the staff not as friendly as I have experienced at Schiphol.

Other forum members may be able to contribute their own Rolex airport store experience… But in general it is worth checking out airport store locations because while rare it is definitely possible to have some interesting finds. It’s all about timing.

Have been trying in all the airports in my region whenever I travel with no luck so far. I also noticed many airports in my region actually lost their Rolex shops in the last couple of years. Anyone noticed that?

Congratulations! I never had such a walk in and out experience at the AD but I was able to pull off two Daytonas in 2 weeks after a long wait of course. But yours is a better experience period.
