So I got my first hairline scratch on the side of the case on my new SubC. It's been bothering me and I want to try this out. For those of you in Atlanta, I'll save you some time and tell you that Ace hardware stores carry these.

The stuff is amazing. I use it regularly to polish the alloy on the car in my avatar. It is the best product I have found so far, and I have tried most of them over the years.

My watch had a few scratches when I bought it. Kind of annoyed he heck out of me. I went to True Value Hardware and bought the Cape Cod. Works great. Just take it nice and slow.

yes they do; however, be carefule as what they do is actually remove a layer of metal each time you use them.

Too many polishings and you could loose the sharpness to your lugs for example.

Reading of the package: Cleans & polishes silver, gold, pewter, brass, copper, bronze, nickel, aluminum, chrome, stainless steel.

Great question! I too have a 16610 (the "LV"), and I wanted to polish up the watch, but I don't want to have to rebrush anything (sounds too risky). Should I use the Wenol Blue & Red, and the Cape Cod cloths? Or will it look weird and force me to "rebrush".

Aside from the brushed SS parts, I have a few nicks and dings I want to take care of.

Here's a pic to give you an idea of the "brushed" look on my particular watch.

Yes, there are a few brush pens available that you can use to brush out those parts. Otto Frei has a few, I'll try to post the link later today.

Yes; however, as stated, Cape Cod removes a tiny layer of the material (in this case - gold) from your watch...so use sparingly and only once in a while.

No. I wouldn't use this on WG. WG shines the way it does because of the rhodium plating. True color of WG is silver with a faint yellow color to it.

I think it will work on Rolex's WG since its a mixture rather than plated but probably not on other sort of WG since those are normally plated.

I have some minor hairline scratches on one side of my case that is bothering me a bit, but as everyone knows scratches will come with wear so might hold off a bit before using this product as I don't want to wear the case down. Has anyone documented their experience with polishing their case? and if so how many wipes does it take to get rid of them.

I have a complete Rolex first aid kit for cleaning and servicing my watch. I usually work on my Rolex once a month to keep it looking fresh.

careful guys... cape cod is actually quite aggressive, so use sparingly. For a more refined solution, i suggest sunshine polishing cloth, which takes off less per swipe, and is completely dry. As for the brushed parts (ie bracelet), I suggest removing the bracelet first and then using a scotchbright pad for a few quick swipes in the direction of the grain will bring it back to new quickly.

Not on the later Rolex WG.

Also, if anyone didn't know, cape cod polish cloth works for getting out faint scratches on sapphire crystals. But, be aware to not use on crystals with AR coating on the outside as the cloth will completely take off the coating.
