Hello Aquanaut thread! I’ve just had a very exciting message from my AD … my 5168G-001 is on its way. I don’t have anyone to tell about it ‘in real life’ who would appreciate it so thought I would share it with you guys!

I’m really excited, the Aquanaut is like nothing else in my collection and I think it will fit my lifestyle perfectly (two young kids!)

I feel so lucky - looking at the pictures on this thread are making me feel like a kid in the run up to Christmas Day. ;)

In fact the clasp was released in the 5968A from 2019 as in the 5740G. As usual with Patek, they were to be included in future novelties as well (2021 5968G for instance).

https://www.hightime-reviews.com/pat...elties-review/

(as will certainly be the Nautilus expandable links)

Is the 2021 5968G clasp going to have micro adjustment?

Like the 5968A (steel version), the 5968G has the new Aquanaut clasp (the new closing mechanism) as well. However, it doesn't have the expandable adjustable links that are only designed for a Nautilus bracelet.

Hence, the Aquanaut can only receive one of the 2 "innovations" (because of the resin strap configuration) while the Nautilus bracelet can receive both improvements (clasp closing mechanism + adjustable links) at the same time.

The clasp seems to be introduced on new Nautilus models since then. I imagine the expandable links might follow as well but of course Patek could decide otherwise.

Thanks for the clarification.

I will find out this Wednesday since my AD just called me and I should be expecting the delivery of the 5968G this Wednesday.

Only if a 5740G will also show up at the same time.

You're welcome, both will have the deployant new clasp but not the expandable links. However, it would be interesting to ask if these expandable links could be added separately on the Nautilus?

You'll most certainly have 2 fantastic models to choose from. Enjoy the moment!
