I'd say the 41mm DJII or DDII are quintessential with an equally elegant suit (Dolce & Gabbana). On a side-note, all of the other Datejust and Day-Date models are too small at 36mm in my opinion, so unless you are a trim, smaller-framed human, they are nish-nish. Sorry, but I had to get that in. With a linen suit or seersucker, go with the Milgauss or Yachtmaster (40mm or YMII). Prada blazer, RL Purple Label shirt with Seven jeans and Bally Derbies? Go with any of the Submariner, Sea-Dweller or GMT line. Daytona works too!

But the above is really getting specific. I think you could wear any of the Rolex line-up (sans the smaller models ) with a suit and look great.

I also like the look of the Turnograph & Milguass.

Looking for some opinions.

Thanks!

Going by what you wrote, it sounds like you favor a more
formal/office look --- so the Datejust would fit that best.
I think its really the perfect suit watch; very elegant and classy.
Alternatives in this same style would be the DayDate and TOG.

Then DJ2 and DD2 are larger and thicker, and if you like those
(or one of the sports models) I suggest you check that they
will fit comfortably under your existing cuffs/suit sleeves.

The sports models are considered more 'casual', but most people
would be ok wearing/seeing them at work or formal occasions
these days.

Definitely a DJ, that's why I bought one. Hard to fit most sport models under cuffs due to the Bezels. Explorer II fits under a cuff but DJ looks more formal IMHO.

Something on a leather/croc strap but if it must be a rolex on a bracelet I would love to wear speeds DJ with a suit.

Was visiting my AD and one of the owners had a GV on with a suit and it looked VERY nice. But, the other owner had a SD on with his suit. THAT looked so nice I bought it from him! So, I think you can dress any Rolex up or down, depending on the occassion.

I generally wear a suit Mon.-Fri. at the office, and I have worn my Sub's, GMTII-C; Milgaus, DJ and DD all with no problems. However, I would note that the DD, DJ or Milgauss work best with French cuffs, as sometimes the bezels on the Subs or GMT get hung-up on the cuff and don't fit so neatly under the cuff.

What are you suggesting? That this photo is doctored up to show him with a Rolex that didn't exist back then? He seems to be wearing something with a maxi case and a black bezel. What else did they have back then that would have fit the bill? Besides, out of all of the pics online of GMTIIc watches, why would someone Photoshop a pic of Ken Lay of all people? Maybe this mega millionaire had access to the release of the watch before the general public did. I'm sure Hollywood celebs and other extremely wealthy/famous people can get access to the pick of the litter of new releases long before you and I can.

It looks like the old style GMT II to me. I highly, highly doubt that Rolex would have gone out of their way to supply a convicted felon with a watch before it even premiered to the general public. And, seeing as it only premiered in the spring of '06, he'd have had to be up giving speeches at a podium some time between then and his death in July of tha tyear. Something tells me that it's the older style watch in the pic.

I also recall seeing photos of him in a YG DD.

I agree with everyone here that just about any Rolex can work just fine. No coincidence though that I think the TT Bluesy gets the job done pretty well.

Explorer 1 looks very nice under a suit.
Soon available in a bigger size for those that think 36mm is too small.
