Seeing as you ask to hear what people think, I don't like it at all. I have nothing against moding a Rolex, I don't like PVD. Hoping that you enjoy wearing it for a long time.

Neat! Didn't you say that you wanted to leave the caseback and bracelet alone? They look coated to me. Another thing that may look sharp would be to swap out your second hand for a red YM second hand!

Since the watch head was pvd, why have a steel bracelet? So I got it done, but as for the case back, I decided later on even tho it made sense to leave it in steel, I didn't want any silver showing so just had him coat that as well, to be honest, I will prob never use the bracelet as I love this watch too much on the NATO. Down the road I can always get the watch re coated after years of wear an it will look like new

Even though I would never spend thousand on a watch and then spend thousands more to make it PVD thus making the watch unserviceable by Rolex I have to say my hats off to you, that sir was a gutsy move.

wow. that's a big step, or steps....I am a fan of PVD watches, but I don't know if I could do it to my Rolexes, maybe a sub style watch by another maker. Just curious though, you said you were going for the vintage look like James Bond, but why then did you opt for PVD instead of just removing the crown guards? I feel like the stainless would have retained that vintage look you were after.

I wanted a modern tool watch with a splash of vintage nostalgia by removing the guards.. I thought this rout was a better one to take aside from buying a 6538 and pvd that one.. Which I don't think I could stomach to do
